50% record, 40% Rodgers, 10% Jets owner is a massive Trumper dickhead. ;)

In all seriousness though was he expected to beat arguably the best team in the NFL right now to keep his job? It’s not even like it’s their bye week or anything. Bizarre timing, but it is the Jets…

Let's be honest, the real breakdown is 100% "It's the Jets". That team is always a mess.

That said, i was surprised that they didn't fire Saleh in the offseason, i just don't think he is a particularly good HC. I think he built an outstanding defense but overall the team is was too undisciplined under him and he clearly just didn't have a feel of how to run (or identify people who could do it for him) an effective offense.

Gotta wonder how the team reacts to this. Saleh was liked by a bunch of the players, particularly the defensive players. Those defensive players have to be wondering how firing Saleh will fix an offense led by a aging QB who may or may not have crossed the road to "washed" (i'm not sold that he is entirely) that has been stunningly bad especially when the OC wasn't fired but is being demoted for a new playcaller (which sounds like the exact same plan Saleh had) and the new playcaller is far from a offensive genius himself. Seems like they shuffled the chairs on deck but didn't address the water coming in over the sides.

I kind of understand giving him this season given his star addition was out for 99.99% of last season. What were they really supposed to do with the Karate Kid at QB.

Hackett was only there as part of a package deal to brownnose and give Rodgers high fives, whilst Rodgers does what he wants anyway. What’s he being demoted to, shoe shine? Like you, I don’t see how this changes anything for the better this season.

Welp, a big ol' beatdown by the Steelers who basically made it a home game for them with the amount of 'terrible towels' on display.

That being said, I really do think there was some questionable calls - the roughing the passer on the INT and illegible player downfield on the TD was very sketchy IMO coupled with some shit play calling from Getsy and also why didn't Pierce throw a challenge in on the Abdullah run rather than push through another rushing play in which we fumbled?

Same ol' shit with this team ultimately and severely doubt AOC is the answer to our QB woes either.

The division matchups between the NFC North teams are going to be crucial this season because I just don’t see those 4 teams losing many games to anyone else considering they’re paired with the AFC South which is awful aside from the Texans (who the Vikings and Bears have already faced), and the NFC West which looks increasingly ropey. I thought Geno was garbage for the Seahawks on TNF vs the 49ers. The Rams will improve when they get players back from injury but that’s not going to be a sudden shift. The Cardinals still don’t look very good on either side of the ball. So other tough games that remain for the NFC North teams are:

Vikings:
Vs Falcons (week 14)

Lions:
@ Texans (week 10)
Vs Bills (week 15)
@ 49ers (week 17)

Packers:
Vs Texans (week 7)
Vs 49ers (week 12)

Bears:
@ Commanders (week 8)
@ 49ers (week 14)

Conditional 3rd becoming a potential 2nd was probably the best we could have hoped for now.

Rodgers gets his man and now expectations to ensure the Jets are play off bound

It's the Jets, odds are they will absolutely fuck it up.

They are making reactionary moves to try and save a season where they are 2-4 and have already fired the head coach. Joe Douglas (who i think knows how to actually build a team, but has no clue how to find a QB) is operating to save his job. Either it works or it's the next GM's problem type of move.

Belichick said it last night on the ManningCast "That's kind of what it's been there at the Jets -- barely won over 30 percent in the last 10 years. The owner being the owner, just ready, fire, aim."

Thinking there is a real good chance this repeats next year when Aaron retires and Devante again asks for a trade.

At this point having Garrett Wilson be the slot more might help his fantasy production.

Just seen the conditions for it to turn into a 2nd round pick. One of them is for Adams to start in either the AFC Championship game or the Super Bowl, the other is being named 1st or 2nd team all-pro.

3rd round pick it is.

Yea, I’m not holding out much hope of that potential 2nd but at least we aren’t on the hook for the rest of his salary so plenty of cap space next year - just have to be smart for once in who Telesco targets

More boneheaded decision making from Antonio Pierce not to go for it on 4th down and ridiculously poor time management further cementing that he is merely a cheerleader and out of his depth as a HC.

Another wasted season beckons and attention turns to tanking for picks.

Mixed feelings on the Vikings loss to Detroit last night. The performance was good, and Darnold looked better than he did in the previous 6 quarters of football, so I still think the Vikings will be 1 of 3 teams from the NFC North to make the playoffs. On the other hand, with Goff seemingly getting better and better, and the 49ers looking out of sorts, I’m struggling to see anyone stopping the Lions from winning the NFC. Their running game is terrific and their O-Line is arguably the best in the league at protecting the QB.

Right now I’d probably predict a Ravens v Lions Superbowl.

Also, can the NFL and its media partners please give up their obsession with the Jets and Rodgers now? He’s not what he once was, they’re not making the playoffs, and they’re crap to watch. They’ve got 2 more prime time slots in their next 4 games, including against the Colts. It’s ridiculous.

I am just infuriated by my fantasy season this year in the SC league.....

I am 4th in total points scored despite not having my full starting lineup available for any 1 game this season....pretty solid.

I am also, however, 1st in points against, 100+ points ahead of anyone else.

The end result....0-6......if you need a HUGE week from your team just check your schedule for me you will get to set a record....

NFC North is scarily strong this season.

I think we will probably finish 4th (Bears) but the next few years could be really competitive division to win. Can't see any 1 team dominating.

The Lions are the only team that have been around for the whole Super Bowl era and not win it (they've not even managed to get to the actual Super Bowl).

Now until recently I'd never heard of the Detroit Lions nor watched an NFL game in its entirety. Then my wife got a job in Detroit and I spent the last 2 weeks of the summer holidays there. I was surprisingly impressed by the Detroit area and met some very nice people who not only felt that Detroit was on the up but so were the Lions.

My only souvenir of the trip was a new era Lions cap and a small desire to keep an eye on their results. Last week I got to watch the Cowboys game and I actually got quite excited by the Lions running play and Jarred Goff's uncanny throwing ability. Yesterday was a much tighter game, but as their fans quietly told me, it does look like the Lions are a good team..

To be honest I still don't know much about the NFL but the Lions do seem to be an exciting watch and I'm hoping they carry on the good results.

That missed face mask penalty.....if I'm a Vikings fan, I'd be pissed.

Not sure how that gets missed. I mean they still would've needed to drive the field and get a 2 point conversion but still, shocking officiating yet again.
