Welcome back Raiders!

Last week against the Ravens was clearly a false dawn - getting owned on every facet of play at home against the Panthers was utterly embarrassing and we made Andy fucking Dalton look like prime TB12.

Going into this season there was undoubted questions over our QB situation and Getsy play calling but for our lauded D being man handled by the Panthers is seriously concerning.

I'd be worried about the coaching with the Raiders. You've already seen Pierce make some baffling go for it/punt decisions too.

Pierce afterwards alluding to "some of our players made business decisions" could easily be construed at the likes of Adams seeking a trade out.

Saaaaaaam Darnold everybody!!!

Just a reminder that Sports Illustrated pay somebody who predicted the 3-0 Vikings would only win 3 games this year: https://www.si.com/nfl/2024-nfl-schedule-nfc-team-record-predictions

Nobody expected the Vikings to start the season 3-0 but most were thinking 7-10/8-9. That 3-14 prediction was just nuts.

Can’t quite believe just how dominant the Vikings were yesterday. It’s been very rare that we’ve had even a 2-score win over the last few years, so to have a blowout win against one of the most hyped teams in the AFC was completely unexpected.

Very impressive start against indeed against the backdrop of pre-season issues and beating two SB contenders in 49ers & Texans.

The NFC North is tough to call.

First Bears QB to throw over 300 yards in nearly 6 years, 2 touchdowns, defense picked up 2 interceptions

Yet we still lost! Some utterly mad play calling going on and unfortunately I think Caleb might have to learn a new playbook next year....this team is finishing bottom of NFC North again and unlikely to get more than 2/3 wins this season. Not with the poor game management and offensive play calling going on.

I was surprised they kept Pierce. I know the squad liked him but there were enough question marks around his ability to at least explore other options.

Now i'm not sure he makes it to mid-season.

Considering their biggest need is at QB, wouldn’t it make sense to let the year play out and the worse they are the more chance they’ve got of beating out the Giants or Panthers for Quinn Ewers in the draft?

He looks out of his depth for us unfortunately but the play calling under Luke Getsy has been abysmal - case in point;

We can't establish the run
We can't defend against the run

Going to be problematic especially now he's calling out players for unprofessionalism ala Mike Singletary and if we do look to trade out Adams then this only further diminishes our chances further.

You can probably add the Titans to the mix too

Rashee Rice getting hurt on a tackle while forcing a fumble after Mahommes throws a terrible INT is wild.

Wow I did not expect D Henry to steamroll the Bills and I will say this very quietly as not to jinx it but Mr Nabers you might be having to pay Mr Daniels the $10k.

Was two bad teams on display with the Raiders and Browns and we managed to just eke out the win mainly thanks to our D which is a credit considering Koonce and obviously Crosby out.

Powers-Johnson was a big plus being moved to LG and at least gives me heart that our two top draft picks aren't busts but can't see us being competitive in this league with our QB situation, RB issues and questionable play calling but a win's a win!

Went to bed in a good mood thanks to Spurs and the Vikings, but with my fantasy matchup looking 50/50. Woke up to 200 yards and 2 TDs from King Henry to almost certainly win it for me.

‘Twas a good Sunday.

Looking forward to watching Jets @ Vikings at Spurs next week now. When I got the tickets I thought it was optimistic to think the Vikings might go into that game 2-2. 4-0 having played 3 teams fancied as Superbowl contenders is dreamland.
