Their Defence was terrific and it’s a young roster that should take another leap this year, so a veteran QB is the right move for them. But they’re not so close to a SuperBowl roster to justify betting so much on a guy who will probably only play for 1 or 2 more years. The Jets sucked last year, right? They weren't one key player away from being super bowl contenders and I forgot about it? They seem to be giving up a lot in order to challenge for 3rd spot in the AFC East.
I think they are, unfortunately. They have a great defense and some really good skill players for Rodgers to use. Their O-line wasn't great last year, but I think they were missing their better players for most of the season. The AFC has so many teams at the moment though. If they were in the NFC they'd easily be a top four team, but just getting to the play-offs in the AFC will be tough. A lot of mock drafts had a few QBs going in the first round last year too, when there was only one taken in the first two rounds. Looks at this ridiculous that had five going in the first.I make no claim to be an expert on NFL drafting or college football, but I was surprised that Will Levis wasn't taken at all in the 1st round. As far as I remember, all the mock drafts on NFL.com included him in the top 10-20 picks, so it just shows that even people who watch this stuff for a living can get it completely wrong at times. I doubt that he'll be on the board for very long tonight, though.
The draft rankings now are pointless....Always remember that Seahawks got an F rating for drafting Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner and Russell WilsonEagles bag consensus top 3 and top 15 guys at 9 and 30.
I was worried about losing Hargrave. Not so much now.

Yeah, and Tom Brady went in the 6th round etc. Draft rankings are always hit and miss. We all know the proof is in the eating of the pudding. The draft rankings now are pointless....Always remember that Seahawks got an F rating for drafting Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner and Russell Wilson
Got (in my opinion) the top Corner in Witherspoon who I wanted for the Raiders and quite possibly the top wideout in JSN so I think you can be pretty happy with the first round haul.So can anyone tell me - are the picks for the Seahawks any good? or are we going to be meh next season? I was expecting a bit more on the is it pass rushers? the big burly dudes.
I thought that they could have moved up to get Carter at 7. I didn't think that the Eagles would be able to get him, because I thought that it was going to cost too much to move up. I did think they would end up with Smith, but I thought they were going to move back a few picks, and get him at like 15-18. I never thought that he would be there at 30. Overall, I loved their draft. Being a lifelong Eagles fan, it is very rare to be completely satisfied with their draft, but I have zero complaints.Eagles bag consensus top 3 and top 15 guys at 9 and 30.

I'm surprised Raiders didn't look to trade down to be honest as they would have expected to still get Wilson at 9 but who knows what picks they wanted in return and/or what was offered up.I thought that they could have moved up to get Carter at 7. I was actually surprised that the Falcons didn't trade back. I thought that they could have gotten Robinson at 10, and could have picked up some draft capital.I'm surprised Raiders didn't look to trade down to be honest as they would have expected to still get Wilson at 9 but who knows what picks they wanted in return and/or what was offered up.
For what it's worth, I think a Superbowl caliber team like Eagles could absolutely afford to pick Carter despite the off field issues because of his talent but for Raiders i'm glad we didn't as we can't run that risk due to the multitude of holes needed to be filled.
This draft has been a good start but will take a few years before we can dream - especially in our division.

Actually, I kind of think that Philly is the perfect place for Carter. There is a great combination of friends from Georgia and veterans (Brandon Graham, Fletcher Cox, etc) that will help him assimilate to NFL life. I think that if he fails in Philly, then he would fail anywhere else. I am very optimistic that he will try and prove a lot of people wrong about him....especially those teams that took him off their draft board.
I definitely get what you are saying. From what I have heard, Carter was at his best, when he was with Jordan Davis and under the leadership of Nakobe Dean (who the Eagles drafted last year). Some of the character stuff came from coaches, but they were pretty vague and the problems outside with the racing incident. Other than that, it's not like there is a laundry list of issues. The one thing that pops into my head regarding Carter is when everyone keeps bringing up the UGA guys in Philly and how they can help keep him on the straight and narrow.....well, they were at Georgia with him...you know, where he had character issues.
Not saying it won't help, but it just strikes me as something people aren't considering. He had the character issues around them before, so now that he is around them again clearly they will help him not have issues. Recent history would seem to show that wasn't the case.
I think the bigger impact will be, as you said, the rest of the locker room especially Cox, Graham, Kelce and Lane Johnson.
