Woolwich Wanderers play a different style of football than us, they are not superhuman - just drilled in the finer points of the game.

They are more "professional" in all areas. Spurs may have skilled players but it seems to me that Arsenal always use physical strength to intercept and "take out" attacking players and attacking passes and counter attack at will.

Spurs have a naivety in defence (they always did have)

Arsenal would be more likely take out an attack with a pro-foul in an innocuous area in the opponents half or near the half way line where we seem to try to defend at close quarters in and around our own penalty area.

My beloved Spurs defending remind me of a combination of the "Keystone Cops" and "Remember The Alamo"

Completely agree. Edelman runs the money side of the business and Whingy is in charge of everything football. He stands and falls by his results, and cannot blame poor transfer policy on someone else. I can't help but feel that Spurs is set up in an all-too-familiar fashion to the generic plc - in order that the directors can cover their asses.

Levy - MJ, I backed you with £40m and you've not delivered.

Jol - I blame Comolli for not giving me the players I wanted.

Comolli - I bought good players, morale and tactics are down to you Martin.

All valid arguments and, I fear, exactly what we'll see in the press shortly when the vitriolic tit-for-tat tales start circulating

They've allowed the paedo the freedom to implement his vision for everything about the club, so that he has the people and systems in place that fit exactly with his plans. So he gets the type of players in he wants, into a youth system he controls, playing the style of football he wants, training the way he wants, ready for the first team into which he brings exactly the players he needs to gel with the up and coming youngsters.

I think Arnesen had that kind of all encompassing approach and you could see that from the way he restructured so much when he arrived, bringing in the best people for each position. Comolli? I don't think he has it.

People like that are rare, but they're the sort of people that will guarantee you long periods at the very top.

I feel a little sick. Wenger is a ****

To give the paedo his dues, what he's done down at the Woolwich is nothing short of brilliant. It's worked because it's been one man with the vision and leadership to implement a system that really works from the top down. His board have let him get on with what he does best and stuck to the business side.

I liked the idea of our DOF system, but I no longer believe it will work. Possibly it is the people involved - Arnesen set things up well, but I don't have the same confidence in Comolli. I think Arnesen had the football knowledge, the experience and the vision to establish a dynasty for us and especially to really sort our coaching and youth policy. My opinion of Comolli is that he's a good scout, with most of his experience in France. I just don't think he's the man to run this club from the top.

What he's done that is truly remarkable is transform a mindset that's existed since the 1930s, when the Woolwich first set out to bore the football world into submission.
