I'm not sure how I should react to this.

I told a fellow Spurs fan who's very much Poch in that one of the reasons why fans are so concerned and have started to have questions about the manager's future is
our poor form over the the 2019 calendar year, not just the start of this season.

He rebutted by saying I should not be harping on the calendar year results and that run to the CL final affected our form for the 2nd half of last season. He went to say to be fair, focus on this season alone and that to include last season's form is baggage and should not be taken into account.

Tell me how I should react to this fan, lads.
You should applaud both his knowledge and implementation of Rule 117 Subsection B.

the fact that even if we didn't score the penalties, no 1 knows what would have happened for the rest of the match, plus Kane doesn't miss many:whistle:
Kane didn't play vs Everton either. So even if he doesn't miss many, he wouldn't have taken that one.

Your straws are diminishing

considering the quote I originally posted included 2 or 3 other penalties when Kane was on the field, then what is your point?

I know 1 thing that involves a point though, pointless discussing with someone blaming Jan-May results without using any thought on why that might happen, other than call it an excuse.

Poch is the best manager we have had since Burkinshaw but for a combination of reasons (some certainly down to him) hasn't won anything.

But let's not forget he got us closest we have been since the 1960's to winning the league and then the Champions League. Levy has been diverted in providing us with the best stadium in the UK, possibly in the world, and long term it should solidify us in the top 6 in the Premiership.

It's just a shame that Poch didn't turn up along with Harry Kane 5 years later, with the stadium and infrastructure in place and then I think we would have seen Levy (or new owners) put proper investment into the team just as Liverpool were able to do once they say Klopp was so close to glory.

Just like Martin Jol (who started to give us faith again) I hate the fact that people are turning against Poch in such vehement terms.

I also don't want to complain particularly about ENIC when you see the stadium and training facilities all delivered whilst nearly getting us to the pinnacle of English and European Football.

I know it won't happen because this is the time of social media and people express strong views, often with no thought of moderation or looking at the other side of arguments. That's fair enough - anyone can say whatever they want. (We all know that when Kane eventually leaves he will become a hate figure for some).

I'm just sad and depressed about all of these circumstances but live in hope that in the next 4 games that suddenly things turn, we will beat W Ham, qualify for the next stage in the champions League, beat Burnley and Man U away and everything looks better. It could happen you never know!

They haven't. Their net spend has been no different (if less) then ours. They've simply reinvested the inflated fees they've received
