So you're saying if the club sacked Poch and got somebody else, no matter who it was, the situation would absolutely definitely improve? You're deluded if the answer to that is yes. There are too many variables, of which Poch is only 1.
Literally no one on this forum thinks that if we change managers "the situation would absolutely definitely improve". That's a straw man.

What some people do think is that, given our league form has been fucking garbage since January, it's more likely that a new manager will get better results than it is that Poch will somehow turn things around.

I'm one of those people. Of course there's a risk when you change manager. But I'm sick of the constant formation and personnel changes - Poch obviously doesn't even know his best team or tactics - and the slow, turgid style of play in the league.

Five points above the relegation zone after more than a quarter of the season is pathetic.

I keep equivocating between stay or go (a la clash). Ultimately we need to get behind the team and club. These next three years are uncharted territory for us as we make money now. Can we make the most of it? Here's to a hopefully comfortable win over the Blades.

The key point is to see what Poch can do with these new and fit attacking players. He needs that chance. He cant make excuses for the defence either as he also has to make sure they are relatively secure

Some ‘valid’ points but slagging of Dele Alli as being technically inept is ludicrous... we don’t deserve players like him if that’s our view... sure he hasn’t been great the last season or two but he’s a young player that’s suffered various injuries. Easily one of our best players when fit and on form, don’t think Chelsea fans were calling Lampard, a similar style of player, technically inept either

I’m not ‘slagging him off’, I like him as a person, I’m just making a personal observation based on his performances, which is what most of the analysts outside the uk have also been saying for the last year or so (I end up watching a fair bit of Dutch tv as my gf is dutch, and they have been quite shocked at his lack of technical ability seeing him first hand, relative to his reputation - unfortunately it has affirmed the view of England as being a technically weak, physical league which is why we have historically failed internationally). He has a bad first touch, can’t beat a man, has very average close control, no passing range or consistency and is really really poor at keeping the ball in tight spaces. Every now and then he pulls off some skill or flick like against city but with Dele it’s always moments. He’s technically poor compared to the top midfielders coming through in my opinion and that of Gullit etc and the England u17 World Cup winners are leaving him quite a long way behind. We all have different opinions, I don’t think this one is ludicrous.

If he leaves Ndombele, Lo Celso and Sess on the bench and we lose, then I think I'm done with Poch....

From an article in the Guardian..

Spurs won 4-0 at Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Wednesday, moving them to within touching distance of the last 16, but they have struggled to generate momentum on the domestic front. Pochettino is determined to get back to winning ways on Saturday but he warned that Spurs need time to get it right.
“We went back to five years ago where we were like this in terms of position, situations and stuff like that, so it takes time,” Pochettino said. “We cannot move the club forward quick, we cannot accelerate the time – that’s the problem. It’s a natural process. We only need to stay calm and work hard because there is not another way to change this dynamic. It’s different to five years ago but with a lot of similarities.”
Pochettino was asked to discuss the similarities. “It’s difficult to talk now because I don’t want to be talking about negative things,” he said. “I promise you if all goes well, I will explain for you. I want to be positive because the signals in the last few weeks have been positive.”
Spurs trail fourth-placed Chelsea by 10 points but Pochettino believes a Champions League finish remains possible. “When you assess all the circumstances, it’s normal to be in the position we are,” he said. “We’ll see [about the top four]. Today, it’s so early. If we are capable of finding the right balance to start performing in the way we expect, it’s still possible.”

I don't know about these statements by Poch. I agree with him that things cant change in a minute but he has to be clever with his choices. I hope today even if he wants to rest some players, that he have an eye on our game in terms of fluidity. We played Red Star in the first game and we were quite fluid (they were a bit of a porous team) and then he came back with a team that lacked imagination in the next game. I think we were great against Red Star in this last one,and I wonder what he will do now. Its about where our focus is. Id still like to see Ndombele and even Lo Celso for at least half a game with some strength behind them in the DM position. With Poch he always talks about time but I think its more about seizing the moment
He talks of the Villa game being a turning point for him/the team, when Kane scored the freekick, and that is true.
But he wouldn't have brought Kane on if not for the continual demands from the away fans.
MP liked Adebayor (made him vice captain) and just could not see how ineffectual he was.
So the villa game was important in that at the point of being sacked and with nothing to lose, MP finally listened and made the change.

I don't know why some things can seem self evident to the fans, but the guy who has played the game for 25 years and works with the players everyday can't see it. It is not just MP. It staggers me that Bale played at LB for so long, when fans could see he could not defend. It then turns out he is one of the best strikers in the world!
Surely Redknapp, who did have an eye for a player, saw in training that Bale had all the attributes to be a good striker at the very least. It happened in the end more by accident.

He’s just picked 10/11 the team I would have (I’d have picked Foyth over Aurier). No Toby, Verts, Rose or Eriksen. Maybe Poch can turn this around after all. Come on Dier and Sanchez - don’t let me down! ??

Well, actually, I'm not entirely sure there's any straw involved at all John.......
A change of manager also has a chance to absolutely fuck us.
This post got two 'disagrees'. You don't need me to explain the implications :D

That's your best evidence? With all due respect, you're reaching. It's a straw man.

The back six that were on today
Gazza
Aurier Foyth Dier Sanchez Davies

He bought them all, he has coached them all for at least a season.

You could add Sissoko too to complete Pochettinho's defensive unit.

He owns everything thats going wrong.

Whatever time he had to "rebuild" is long long gone.

Sack him. Bottom half middle of November, our season is long over.

Funny how many people have been blaming all this on the so called 'want away players'. Well they aren't there today, and we look just as bad if not worse.

Tactics non-existent. I can't even begin to guess what our gameplan was. There's no organization at the back or going forward.
