What the hell are you talking about?

Whoever made the Redknapp comparison is way off the mark, but lots of people have aired their concerns because we've been poor for the best part of the year.

Constantly changing things, playing players who don't wan't to be here, moaning, talking about leaving etc.

It's been a mess and you're acting like people can't accept a few bad results.

Now he's made changes, what a lot of us wanted to see and now want to see if he'll build on that.

And you're weighing in having a go like you've been proven right lol.

If anything, the people saying he needed to stop playing some of them look to be proven right.

Hate posts like yours digging out other fans just because they're switched on enough to recognise some of the problems and it's not just about blind loyalty to a manager, who's talked about leaving as well.
Absolutely spot on !!!

You can’t say it doesn’t look like a one off. Red star were terrible. Also Poch may bring back Rose, erisken etc and go back to a diamond on Sunday etc etc

let’s see what he does on Sunday first. If he doesn’t keep the same exact team he’s an idiot.

He certainly won't keep
the exact same team.
Different opponents; different competition; weather conditions;
away not home; normal rotation.
But that clearly wouldn't make him an idiot.

Winks (sorry) will probably return;
Dier might start
after his promising showing
We might change formation
under the circumstances.

The only idiot
would be someone
who had a somewhat limiting agenda.

In a way I'm glad Liverpool are next up after this game. A real test to see if we actually have turned the corner and he's seen the light about the wantaway players or he goes back to picking the likes of rose and alder.

Why should Winks return? Who should make way for him? I'd prefer to keep Sissoko and Ndombele in there.

The only idiots are the ones who talk about agendas.

It’s fine recognising issues and discussing how best to move on from them. But the constant rewriting and downplaying of Poch’s achievements and blood thirst for Levy to pull the trigger is uncalled for. The only reason the team has reached such a consistently high level is down to the manager. Levy was always looking for a manager who could improve individuals and get the collective playing at a level above the sum of its parts. Poch has been the only manager in recent times who has done that. So why at the first sign of trouble is there such a clamour to bin him? We know rebuilding a squad is one of the hardest things to do in football. The manager has been unlucky that 2 of his major signings to refresh the team have been injured. Surely knowing the level Poch can get the team playing at we give him time? He’s earned that surely?

I really shouldn’t come into this thread.

They’re drifting back again @Lighty64 !

I've finally caught up to your post, and the 6-7 post made during the game before your post shows that they haven't a clue about football.

lets play a game of spot the difference, Watford, Newcastle and a lot of teams set up as a back 10. Palace and Red Star never which makes it so much easier to play with pace

Keeping the same team for Liverpool just because of last night doesn't make sense. Liverpool are not the same proposition as last night's opposition. Keeping the same performance levels is important, pressing, movement off the ball etc, not simply keeping the same 11 players.

The first sign of trouble? That's just not true though if you look at the context of our league form since last January.

The football has'nt been enjoyable for months either.

Last night was like a breath of fresh air, and we havn't seen that for a very long time, so you can understand why some were frustrated. That's not fickle.

It's taken some time for him to recognise the problems and attempt to fix it, which is concerning as well but I put that down to stubbornness.

Yes overall he's been fantastic and does deserve time, but only if he builds from this.

If it's back to rotation on Sunday with the usual suspects involved I fear last night was a one off and not the start of recognising some of the problems and turning a corner.

Team selection very significant on Sunday.

We've actually played quite well at Anfield the last couple matches, and obviously we were quite unlucky against them in the final. I'm quietly hopeful, as long as we play the same committed team we did last night

There were mitigating circumstances for last years form which we all know. The new signings were an attempt to rectify some of this but they’ve been injured.

The dynamics of the squads have changed. New bonds need to be established etc... this can be solved with time.

I’ll never agree with calling for the managers head so early in the season.

And in no way should the diamond make a reappearance. It hardly ever works in general for us, and never ever works against Liverpool. Absolutely no diamond at the weekend. Whatsoever.

Once again, to be clear, no diamond

Poch just referenced the late summer signings again. Imagine where we would be if he got fully backed. He must be still pissed off.
Yep. Just imagine what could have been had we gotten a player that was injured or one that was at an international tournament sooner.

I refer you to your display picture.

But in all seriousness, clearly winning 5-0 and the players putting in a performance like that has done him favours. If the team lost tonight then its highly likely there was no coming back from it. Hes seen a team show willingness to work hard and hes been able to see removing certain players has improved things.

trouble is in 2 weeks time everyone will be expecting us to go over there and batter them again even if we started with the same XI. we will be playing in a different atmosphere on a shitty pitch, and playing a team that wants revenge, a team that beat Liverpool at their place last season 2-0
