The Pochettino-Levy dynamic shaping Tottenham's 'crisis'
Mauricio Pochettino's response to Tottenham's current 'crisis' will very probably define him as a manager, writes Guillem Balague.www.bbc.co.uk
My biggest issue with Pochettino is what I see present day in the Spurs team. Looking back on his best XI, which was probably Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Dembele, Wanyama, Eriksen, Dele, Son, Kane, only 4 were signed by Poch, the other 7 were already at the club.
My issue is, has he been a good manager or did he just get a little bit lucky? I'm pretty sure it's not luck but when we look at the best team during his tenure, 6 years in and the fact that 7 of those guys were not identified nor have they been sufficiently replaced to date when required does come as a concern.
He's had over £400m to spend on incomings if you consider the Lo Celso deal to be a permanent one, does anyone really see £400m worth of improvements in the team at present? That would be my biggest concern to date, he hasn't proved he can do it with something regarded as genuinely his team.
He wanted players like Berahino, Schneiderlin etc and turned down Maddison for peanuts. He wasn't interested in Lo Celso for £20m but was a year later at £50m etc. He hasn't exactly got a top drawer record when it comes to wise investments so it comes as no surprise to me that when the old guard start to age, the team looks a little frail.
Lets face it, we should have bought replacements for Rose, Eriksen and Verts over the last 2 years and gradually phased them into the team, in fact we haven't had a left footed back up for Verts since Wimmer left 2 yrs ago.If he stays for this supposed rebuild, replacing lots of players coming into the prime of their careers, I just want to know where he’s going to find them?
Where do all these players suddenly appear from that will appear and gel together as a group and as a team out on the pitch?
Also, like you say and I agree, do wetrust Poch et al to find them?

Most of the indicators point to him being given more time to turn things around, however, if we lose at home to bottom of the table Watford and we follow this up with a loss at home to Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday and round it off with getting thrashed by 4 or 5 at Anfield, if the mood and morale is low at the moment, it will be nothing compared to what it would be if this happened, and in these circumstances, it is pretty obvious what would happen after a third loss that was demoralising. For the record I'm optimistic enough to believe that this three game scenario won't play out in this way, I'm just emphasising that we all know that a chairman's public backing can quickly change if you get a sequence of results like I've described, not least because it would point to the fact that we would most probably be heading out of the CL, and couldn't even get a point at home the lowest ranked team in the PL and it would starkly emphasise how much in the opposite directions the 2019 CL finalists were currently heading.

Basically where do we find the next Pochettino
These are a such an awful posts they must have been created in some sort of Russian bot, data mining factory. So ballbag sticks his oar in again.
**** needs to shut his fucking yap - since he got on board with Poch everytime he either puts pen to paper or opens his mouth it turns into a muck raking session.
There isn't one other manager in this league that has such a person doing so much talking for them.
Just fuck off and take this forked tongue wanker with you.
I'll happily take a couple of shit pot trophies and the plastics can enjoy them on twitter, then we can go back to being a nearly team and I can sit comfortably watching on in mediocrity again, it was far easier and a much nicer way of watching football.
Nah, just tired of Poch having a ghost writer post his thoughts in public for him. These are a uch an awful posts they must have been created in some sort of Russian bot, data mining factory.
Every manager has journalists they are close to. Klopp - Rafa Honigstein, Mourinho - plenty of them.Nah, just tired of Poch having a ghost writer post his thoughts in public for him.
Yet both those managers happily voice their opinion and stand behind it.Every manager has journalists they are close to. Klopp - Rafa Honigstein, Mourinho - plenty of them.
As much as people may dislike Balague and some of the stuff he sometimes comes out with, he is quite close with Poch.
