So Levy and Poch showing a united front at the NFL game together.

Levy is not going to pull the plug anything soon unless things continue to get worse.

We're going to lose at least three of our next five games, and most likely get demolished by Liverpool. Will be interesting to see.

It really isn't

They're financially in a better spot, have a more successful recent history and a bigger fambase domestically and globally

They've struggled since Fergie But what makes you think Poch can't achieve in a year what he did with spurs after sherwood?

I'm all for being optimistic about our recent improvement but let's be realistic...it's still one of the biggest clubs in the world, and it was only two years ago they finished second - above us

when you put it like that...

DC claimed that Pochettino was considered for the Utd job when he was at Southampton, but he turned down the offer.

My biggest issue with Pochettino is what I see present day in the Spurs team. Looking back on his best XI, which was probably Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Dembele, Wanyama, Eriksen, Dele, Son, Kane, only 4 were signed by Poch, the other 7 were already at the club.

My issue is, has he been a good manager or did he just get a little bit lucky? I'm pretty sure it's not luck but when we look at the best team during his tenure, 6 years in and the fact that 7 of those guys were not identified nor have they been sufficiently replaced to date when required does come as a concern.

He's had over £400m to spend on incomings if you consider the Lo Celso deal to be a permanent one, does anyone really see £400m worth of improvements in the team at present? That would be my biggest concern to date, he hasn't proved he can do it with something regarded as genuinely his team.

He wanted players like Berahino, Schneiderlin etc and turned down Maddison for peanuts. He wasn't interested in Lo Celso for £20m but was a year later at £50m etc. He hasn't exactly got a top drawer record when it comes to wise investments so it comes as no surprise to me that when the old guard start to age, the team looks a little frail.

How much did we recoup due to outgoings?

Not sure but he has still had £400m in incoming players. Even if we have worked to a tight budget can you honestly say that £400m has been really shrewdly spent?

Well maybe the reason he's been able to spend so much is possibly the reason we've recouped so much? If that is the case which I'm pretty sure it is then it doesn't give you the full picture in regards to our spending during his tenure?

Also putting the blame on the manager on who we spend money on isn't really fair is it?

Well seeing as he has given the go ahead on said £400m worth of incomings I'm pretty sure he can take some of that blame absolutely.

I'll ask again, do you feel there's been £400m of quality come through the door? Regardless of what's been made in sales do you feel like those coming in have justified £400m in outlay? I certainly don't, hence why I feel Pochettino has somewhat of a sketchy record in the transfer market.

Yeah some not all so the point still stands, you can't lay the blame at the manager and claim that he was solely responsible for the incommings and use that as a stick to beat him with, yeah he may have got some wrong but then I'm pretty certain he got some right but in all honesty the argument is null as you can't prove either way.

Finding it hard to understand your angle though...spending £80m on average per year for 5 years isn't that surprising for a Premier League side, I mean if you look at the players who have come in and look at their values who can you say was overpriced? Seems weird that you want to insinuate that Poch has wasted money and resources yet we all know that he's got the absolute maximum out of our players, he had to be patient with Sissoko for example where other clubs would have binned in after 1 season.

Also you're factoring in our recent summer transfers in which we spent around £110m, those players haven't even played 15 matches yet between them for the first team which totally skew those figures.

Edit - not sure where you're getting the Maddison and Lo Celso info from?

I think it’s only a matter of time before we part. Poch however has certainly earned a stay of execution even if I disagree. Needs to make some big decisions at the weekend. Out those players that don’t want to be here.

Levy lucked out in hiring Pochettino, if he walks away now ( Levy will not sack him and Poch will not kick up a Mourinho style stink that Levy has no choice but to sack him) where do we find the next young dynamic manager with the energy and enthusiasm to reinvigorate the squad.

Basically where do we find the next Pochettino

I think Levy will give him his desired clear-out and then assess after that.

Should have fucked them all off in the summer though, and we're paying for it now.

but you can't force players to leave (and sign for other clubs) unfortunately
