Your post made sense if it wasn't for us being total shit for a very long time.
Wasn't all that long - for half of last season, we were the third best team in England and looking up. We made the CL Final. We held are own against Man City and Arsenal this season.
Was Brighton a horror show -um, yeah. Bayern 2nd half, um, yeah.
So, it ain't all puppies and roses, but, let's not forget Poch wanted reinforcements and what little support he got; he's been denied 3 of the 4 new bodies. That means playing with deadwood in too many positions.
Who's going to do better?

Don't you hate it when facts get in the way of a good rant?
This is a MONEY GAME and we don't SPEND IT! (hopefully change post new season and all that)
Sure, some of that pathetic spending is because we already had a pretty good team, but 17th net spend???

Its why the lie that the stadium had no impact on transfers was so transparent.

I have never been a real solid Poch Out fan.. The guy has worked wonders for us at times!! I do have my concerns though personally! It has always been said recently that Poch had his couple of targets and didn't want option B.. For this reason it is to some extent his fault we didn't make signings over the period which has led to our current problem.. Secondly let's say we keep faith he somehow manages the club well enough to keep his job until January where we can possibly continue the summers work of rebuilding, Get rid of the guys who don't want to be here and bring in some that do.. Has he learned from this? Will this become something that happens again if he is only willing to sign option A or bust?

Because then we would simply be going around in circles.. I mean right now what has he honestly got to lose by taking a couple of the guys out and throwing some younger players in there? Brighton did that with Connolly and it paid off!! We couldn't do much worse with a little shake up like that than we already are..

Are we confident that he can adapt to a new system that's a bit more fluid without taking too much a hit on defence or will he go back to what he is comfortable with?

Any further hits on our defence mean conceding double figures.

The problem with this debate is that we don't know for fact the players he turned down, we are just guessing and depending on what side of the argument you're on, you're either going to assume they were Njie, Nkoudou, Fazio style players if you want to defend him or you're going to suggest they were great players but he was being ridiculous. The only player we know which is close to fact is Tielemans who is a pretty good player but I think the vast majority of us would agree that if we had to choose we'd have all wanted Ndombele and if Poch being difficult meant we got him then so be it. So for me It's hard to have the conversation because we simply do not know what was on offer and unless Jj is going to come out with a definitive list we are purely guessing which personally I see as redundant. What I will say and I said this in the summer that both Poch and Levy have to take responsibility for the situation we are in with regards to the lack of signings and also outgoings.

Yes Poch needs to tighten it up but even our best time we were not creating enough going forward. Its about balance now, having a strong defence but creating more than we have. For instance getting Kane and Son the ball quicker (while they have space)

I agree that the comment wasn’t good, but our form was suffering before he said he might leave if we won the CL (I’m still not convinced that wasn’t tongue-in-cheek either).

I think the problems run deeper than that and relate to more than just Poch’s activities.
Agree. Upset players, players at the end of their contracts, players wanting to leave, players simply not good enough, Pochs poor team selections and fornations all add up to a fkin shit show.
How do we sort this quickly?
I'm not sure its possible to be honest.

It's agonising. And the worst of it is, I'm craving the next game, just for some kind of activity. Even in the depths of our mediocrity, I never had Spurs on my mind as much as I do at the moment. It was almost like I'd accepted our place in the footballing world. Now, because we have more to lose, it hurts so much more.

Such purple prose and I've not even been drinking!

Usually when there’s an international window of things are going badly at their club there’s a player that breaks ranks and has a moan about things but it’s been the opposite. Not even one bad comment.

If it was as bad behind the scenes as has been touted then you’d expect something to have come out wouldn’t you?

Think thats grasping at straws to be honest.
So because nobody is moaning publicly everything is rosey?
You only have to watch that Brighton performance and our results this year to see something aint right.
As we've alluded to its not one thing or even one player so this is going to take some doing to turn around.
The only way I see that happening is if Poch cuts out all those who arent on board, thats Eriksen, Verts and Toby, and starts playing players in their best positions and to their strengths. Pick your best 11 and keep that core together for a while not keep making 4 or 5 changes every fucking match. None of which we've been doing in the last 12 months.
I dont see him doing that.
I fully expect Verts, Toby and maybe Erikson to start against Watford with another never tried before system in midfield and someone out of position at right back.

I agree with everything you say, pick the players who want to be here. I’m just saying usually somebody has a moan.

Also, I just don’t buy all the players being shit all of a sudden. What will happen is, we will sell them all eventually and then replace them and then the next excuse will be that they’ll all need time to get used to playing with each other. The excuse mongers can’t have it both ways.

I think you have to allow time for players to settle in, I think itd be foolish to think players will come in and be expected to hit the ground running, unfortunately its going to be a little while before we are back up and running to our bewt level regardless of whether its under Poch or anybody else. These issues have been coming for a while and theyve now come home to roost.

Yep. It all goes back to summer 2018 and not buying anyone then not having a massive sort out in the summer. Sounds like all at the club are the blame for that.

Yeah, it's why I was a little at odds with you saying it will be used as an excuse as I don't see it as an excuse in the sense that there's no justifying it and you can't defend it but it's the likely reality.

Why are you so bothered about Arsenal? Lets get our own house in order and forget about them.
I'm born and bred North Londoner, I've taken shit off of gooners for all my life, in particular their sucesssful 20 odd years & until the last 5 years I didn't have much to give them stick for. So I fucking loved giving those ****'s shit for the last 3-4 seasons. Get our own house in order and forget about them? What's that all about? football is about the buzz of the game & the bantz and piss take that goes with it. Sad if you don't feel the same tbh
