The same Danny Rose who famously ditched all social media after abuse from the fans?
OK.

1. Most of those players were not signed early on, in fact, more than half the players I listed were signed summer 2017 or later (so, in the last 5 windows of Pochettino’s 11).
2. Yes we lost Walker and Dembele, if we didn’t lose players in the freshening process we’d end up with many more players than we could register.
3. Dembeles replacements have been Sissoko (bought before Dembele left) and Ndombele (bought the window after Dembele left), not to mention Winks who we’ve watched evolve over several seasons, while Walker’s replacement (Aurier) was bought the same window he left. Slow in replacing?
3. You talk about deficiencies built up over time... I just can’t see where the obvious hole is in our playing personnel when compared to, say, Liverpool, who are all conquering with a midfield usually made up of Henderson, Wijnaldum and Fabinho. They’re superior in some areas, but we are superior in others. The difference is that Liverpool’s manager is getting a tune out of them, ours isn’t.

I continue to maintain that, if Pochettino’s heart is in it, he is talented and able enough to get our squad where it needs to be, but if he doesn’t then that’s on him.

1. I said first two or three seasons, i.e pre-Wembley. I think up to then it was clear for everyone to see that we were improving year on year. There was a sense of momentum about us. Since then, with the exception of a glorious and unlikely run in the CL, it has felt to me like our performances and overall quality of football has plateaued and even deteriorated.

2. My point was we lost them and haven't replaced them with better. Potentially Ndombele could be better than Dembele but we probably should have replaced Dembele at the beginning of last season. Are Aurier/KWP adequate replacements for Walker (and Trippier) - I'm not sure.

3. As things stand we look deficient at both R & L fullback. Definitely compared to where we were 2 or 3 years ago with peak Walker and Rose. We also looked weak in midfield last season relying heavily on a not ready Skipp and not fully fit Winks. The signings of Ndombele and Lo Celso hopefully will help address that.

I don't mean to let Pochettino off the hook completely - there is a strong argument that he's not getting the best out of the players too. It's possible the likes of Sanchez, Foyth, KWP, Winks and Skipp are more than capable of replacing (a likely outgoing) Alderweireld, Walker, Dembele and Wanyama. The problem is we have little evidence so far to suggest these are upgrades to the squad. At the moment they have potential but are probably a bit worse than what we had before.

Fergie was also able to keep things fresh by regularly renewing the playing squad- Pochettino hasn’t had the same luxury. Things turning stale after years of chronic underinvestment in the squad (relatively speaking) is not surprising and something many of us predicted when it because clear we were not utilising our transfer windows effectively. It was great that we made moves to address that in the summer window but once again we were hampered by bringing players into the squad late and we have been unlucky with injuries. In any case I don’t think it’s a problem that can be solved in just one window- it’s more likely to take 2 or 3 windows (at least) of investing in the correct players.
Fergie also recognised that employing different assistant managers throughout his reign delivering a fresh coaching impetus was required.

It's quite evident that the message from Poch isn't being translated not nearly enough on the pitch and I think he needs to shed his comfort blankets (Perez etc) in order to rectify this if he truly wants to succeed.

I think fans at games should unfurl a massive banner with DIAMOND FORMATION OUT or something like that.

Maybe Poch May take hint then!

I think Poch should change some of the coaching staff. Fergie used to do it every so often to freshen things up. We know we have the payers, but everything is just a bit tired and stale at the moment. A change of coaching staff and training could do the trick.

He brought his son in as sports scientist, I’m assuming after a rigorous selection process, what more do you want!?!? ???
