I am taking Poch at his word. I am stepping away from the inferiority complex and stating that Spurs are on equal footing with United when it comes to the present and the future. It is beyond senseless to continue to get worked up about this - no matter what the media push, or what pundits think. None of that matters. At all.

COYS!

Agree with previous poster. So much depends on where us (Spurs and Poch) and that sports entertainment brand are cometh the summer time. No point pontificating now! Seriously, even if Poch said tomorrow 'I'm staying' that could well change by June. Let's enjoy the season.

Absolutely agree. I think that players can buy out their contracts based on the Webber ruling (I think it's called) which was the big leap for contracts after the Bosman ruling. There was lots of paper talk about Rooney buying out of his United contract to go to the States if I remember.

But it's one of those things where as soon as the ruling passes, clubs can write clauses into player contracts that say they can only leave for a fair market price or whatever legal speak it is.
This is what I was thinking, I just doubt that Levy would've left himself in the position to lose Poch for 36m quid or whatever it was.
This is the same guy who got 18m quid for Kevin Wimmer....it just seems highly unlikely.

Don't know if it's been posted but the Times has an entire page dedicated to in-depth speculation of how Poch might build from the back with Pogba at the heart of his new United team next season. :ROFLMAO:

Also an article by Matt Hughes on how they're after John McDermott as well.

The Times, another Murdoch rag not worth the paper it is printed on. The demise of journalism in this country is sad

You have to wonder how the Manchester United fraternity and media that are all running with the Man Utd are the greatest draw in the world nobody would turn them down narrative, if and when Poch stays at Spurs, will they question whether United are no longer the biggest draw in the world or will they just go for the Pochottino has no ambition angle? I'm pretty sure I know which one they'll go for but I also know which one I'll be throwing their way, I live in hopeful anticipation.:)

Some of you strike me as being almost optimistically naive.

I'd love him to stay, but the way this appears to be playing out does give me doubts...and just because you don't necessarily like or share this opinion doesn't make it spam in a thread talking about the manager.

I'd be curious how many times we've gotten him a player he really wanted, how many times DL may or may not have let him down etc. We've tried and failed a few times to get players in (apparently). Poch is being very professional about it all, but it doesn't mean he's 100% staying.

Even if it's not talked about at press conferences, the articles won't stop...we've been here before, mostly with players though. Again, would love him to stay, time will tell.
I dont believe he’ll stay either but i do believe Carragher is a delusional scouse **** so im dismissing his bs.

I will be shocked if he leaves. He may be disgruntled about the lack of backing over the summer but he understands we're building a stadium that is the centerpiece of our future plans. Pochettino already has the spine of the team he wants here. He would need to completely overhaul the team at Man Utd, install his philosophy, and weed out those that don't buy in. He's been here longer than Espanyol and Southampton combined. He's further into this project than hes ever been. If he leaves it would be because he really doesn't think he can take us any farther, in which case who knows why the hell he signed up for 5 more years this summer.

If Poch decides against United in the summer, and I think he will, United are going to look pretty fucking stupid if the media continue to keep the speculation going between now and then.

I'll absolutely marvel in it as well.

Yes but didn't they promise him funds on top of building the new stadium then not deliver? UTD will offer a silly salary and backing to buy whoever he wants so if Levy doesn't start finding the funds that were promised previously and not delivered, I would be more surprised if he turned them down. Especially since UTD have a track record of letting new managers spend money.

Isn't that one of the issues that all the media and pundits have been slating United for? The rhetoric is so fucking out of whack, I wish they would make up their minds.

With Man utd being linked to our manager, our staff and most of our players, i wouldn't be surprised if in a couple of days they're linked to our new stadium too, actually why leave it there? They might as well just suggest we change our name to Man utd it's getting that silly.
