In no realm is that not a penalty. The fact Liverpool of all teams had the temerity to claim it wasn't...

It’s bizarre, isn’t it! Was watching the game yesterday with a Liverpool-supporting friend who is usually incredibly reasonable but he started banging on about it after the Martial incident.

It’s unlucky for Van Dijk as he’s clearly trying to clear the ball but he ends up kicking Lamela in the back of his leg as hard as he can. I just don’t see how you can think it’s not a penalty, it’s so odd.

I am legit so glad he hasn't been sold or loaned anywhere. Invaluable to the squad.
I said when looking at the squad, the problem is, if you're losing or playing a top team, Lamela has to be one of your first subs

He literally injects energy to a team and buys players around him seconds to make a run whilst he dribbles aimlessly. All our other players can't hold the ball without space to run in to but lamela can and has the ability to make a good through ball

He is the best. King shithouse. So good at it. Exactly the type Jose LOVES and what we need more of. If we had more like him, we’d win things. I actually think Jose should thrive on it and get our squad into it. Make GLC into more of one. Dele would be a great one as well. He was winding people up when he broke through. He needed to lean into that more. If Jose can turn him around on the pitch and also get him to re-embrace his shithousery, he would be one hell of a player.

Are they aware of this?

Lamela had no respect at all for United. He set the tempo for that historical win at OT.

We need his attitude around. I will admit to thinking his time was up because of the continuous injuries.

Love the balance he brings to the front three. Thinj moura is too wide and leaves the MF exposed. Dpnt like both him and son doing that. Lamela links really well. Hopefully bale will do that too

Fabregas was once a guest on A League of Their Own and they played a clip of Lamela’s rabona. To my surprise, Fabregas was very complimentary.

There’s something bizarrely tender about this image. The way Martial clutches at Erik, like a lover being unwillingly released from a doomed relationship in the early Autumn evening, pale yellow leaves fallen about his feet. French poetry crumpled in a Macintosh pocket.

And Lamela staring into the future; defying the footballing gods, defying the tradition of loss, steering his beloved Tottenham to new isles, where daring and doing, hard work and shithousery meld into one
