Preston’s manager has left. After 1 game of the season!!

I mean, why go through pre-season, presumably let him have input on signings/sales then boot him after a home defeat against one of the division’s strongest teams?

From reading the article on sky sports, it actually appears it was more the manager wanting to leave than them sacking him.

Bit of a poor show by Lowe as if had doubts should have perhaps quit in summer, but guess he was hoping he’d feel better in job once season started but unfortunately didn’t.

Wow, very surprising. Was certain he was going to have a crack at breaking into Europe after making his money in Saudi.

After the ITK we had that Levy had talked with him before, I was quietly hoping that he would be developing in Europe and be ready for us in 5 years or so, after the Ange reign of course.
Well he kinda flopped there, Al-Ittihad were the title holders and expected to challange again. Nuno hit a bad patch and they took the opportunity to hire Gallano but things didn't improve and they got completely torn apart by sides you wouldn't expect at the end of the season. He was fired he didn't leave willingly.

Now a lot of factors to why it may not have worked out. He had no preseason the squad changed a lot from the previous year and so did the competition etc. But I think his stock has fallen somewhat.

To me this shows how far his stock has fallen.
IMHO We did well not appointing him
My feeling was that it was just everything aligned for him and for us in that period.

It was why I wasn't enamoured about him returning, it was clearly better to leave in the past.

Still wish him all the very best though

i guess i should have put this here
Surprised at that. Potter felt like an excellent fit though of course we don’t know what was said during the interview.

Hiring a popular Nottingham Forest manager is risky.

True. It's fine as long as you do well.

Fans might be a bit quicker to turn on him if he has a bad start.
As I expected, a bad start when you've done so well with a rival leads to a quicker firing.

Reckon the Leicester board already have someone lined up. I mean, it's not been great there but I didn't think his sacking was imminent.

Wonder where Cooper will end up next, his reputation has taken a few knocks.
I don't think he's done much wrong. Forest fans loved him when he was sacked, he got them an unbelievable promotion after taking over in the relegation zone, and kept them up first season. Nuno has got them to another level, in fairness.

And 10 points from 12 games with this Leicester side isn't a full on crisis either. If anything he was daft to take a job at Forest's rivals where the fans would never take to him, a bit like Benitez at Everton. A bad judgement call, but not a terrible job done.

He'll easily get a good Championship job next. Maybe a Palace if things keep going to shit there.
