I think it's time to let KWP go on loan or sell him. Wasting his career with us

Its time for KWP to reconsider his position probably best for him to move on

We should get Atal in January and work on using KWP as a makeweight in a deal to get another homegrown option like Aarons/Bogle/Ferguson. He's done with us.

I don't disagree with the premise, but let's not pretend that these guys would be starting for Chelsea had they not received the transfer ban.

The better point to be made with Mount, Abraham, etc. is that young players need to be given the chance, and won't let you down. There are plenty of very good young players who, if trusted with minutes, would perform and would develop into much better players.
They 100% would be starting if they didn't have a transfer ban, perhaps not Abraham but Mount most definitely would

If you watched Chelsea at preseason, Barkley was their best player, he got dropped despite being better for Mount

If Morris and Lampard weren't managing Chelsea they 100% wouldn't be starting for Chelsea

Ok, but Lampard and Morris wouldn’t be in charge if it weren’t for the transfer ban either. So my point stands.

So to add to the mid table Bundesliga aficionados and people with an encyclopaedic knowledge of Yaya Touré regens, we can add to the SC stable... people who watch Chelsea’s preseason games.

Who knows, I don't think Roman regardless of the transfer ban is looking to spend much or invest much in to Chelsea

His plan years ago was to invest big and make them successful and get their turnover high. After that they become self-sustainable.

KWP is a prime example for me of why Poch's reputation on here for being a manager who nurtures young talent is, for all intents and purposes, bollocks.

No matter how well KWP performs when he's given a start, he's always dropped for the next game, and struggles to make it back in the side even when we're woefully under-staffed at RB. Hell, Poch has preferred to start Sissoko and Sanchez at RB over KWP ffs.

I don't know why the lad is still here. If I was him and people were telling me Poch is the guy who develops young talent, I'd be looking at our starting XI and wondering why it's so damn old.

The problem might just be that KWP isn't that good. If one of the pre-game mascot children invaded the pitch and marauded down the left wing, I'd fancy their chances of out-muscling him, or out-jumping. I'm yet to see the guy make a tackle. I desperately want him to be the answer, but Spurs has done a lot more for him than he has for Spurs - so the derision towards the club for some perceived slant against KWP is weird imvhfo.

Absolutely, I am very open to the possibility that he isn't good enough for us.

My concern is that he isn't getting anywhere enough football to develop. When we sold Trippier without replacement it was hoped he was seen as backup.

But he continues to sit on the bench. Either play, loan him out or sell him. His current situation isn't good for anyone.

so poch isn't at all responsible for the player that kwp is today? do you think that playing next to no senior football up until the age of 22 is adequate preparation for becoming a premier league footballer? poch has had kwp with the first team for three years now and has effectively discarded him after three games, did he really have no inkling beforehand that kwp wasn't good enough? personally i thought his was good vs villa, did reasonably well vs city all things considered but then had a poor game against newcastle, do those performances really merit the way he has been treated since?

I'm not saying Poch bears no responsibility for it, at all. I agree entirely. We only see one side of it, we all think he should be playing more senior football and Poch's insistence on stopping youth players playing football is one of my biggest annoyances with him, the purgatory players find themselves in under his tutelage is ridiculous. KWP, though, might just be playing like shit in training/not putting any effort in (doesn't seem the type tbf). I think the lack of physical development is what's holding him back, but again - if Poch would have sanctioned a loan, maybe that would have helped him progress.

I don't have an issue with people slating Poch's treatment - more the idea that the club owes him one.

I think he's long since lost that reputation tbh. The likes of Onomah (who absolutely shone in our youth teams) going to Fulham and barely playing backs that up.

The way KWP has been dealt with is very poor imo. Should have at the very least been allowed to go out on loan. Fwiw I've never thought he'd be a long term player here, but he deserves better than what he's had.
