Seems like a reasonable answer from Poch. If he says KWP is ready and then he has a bad game vs Newcastle, the response will be shitty. Poch is just keeping the pressure off the lad. What he says to KWP is probably not the same as what he says to the press.

He looks skillful and responsible but I don't think he pushes on enough yet. Lots of times the ball cycled round to the right and he wasn't in position to stretch the defence or cross effectively. Either it is too soon or he takes a few more risks and trusts Toby more.

I agree he looked like he was playing it a bit safe in the final third and didn't want to give the ball away cheaply with a more 'adventurous' pass or cross.

Very much what Mr P said. Anyone who's seen him knows his pushing on has always been a strength of his game, I think what we've seen today is him trying to make sure he gets the defensive side right so that he earns some trust.

Ok well do you think Poch would prefer to play Walker-Peters, who's been with the squad all summer or a new right back that has been with the team less then a week?

The only other sensible option would be to go 4 at the back with Dier at RB.

Would poch completely dismiss a player to the press not sure he would.

It was Ally Gold who posted that though. He's a spurs fan and a local reporter who speaks to the club regularly. I doubt he'd risk upsetting the club by posting something that wasn't true.

We are starting the season with one fit full back... clearly we need a bit more depth.

Well we aren't really.Either KWP is the back up or we buy someone.Theres no way will go into season making do at RB with full ins.

I think he left here before I started using the site, but everyone spoke about him so often that I ended up buying his book.

I've got a feeling that he might still be a friend to the site.
He still posts here...

Watched his cameo while carrying around a crying baby, so my eye for details was a bit off, but he seemed to get very narrow at times defensively and allowed a bit too much space on the outside. Going forward, he looked a bit "restrained" (maybe not the right word), and played it safe. But all in all, I think he did well, and that there's a lot to build on.
