Anyone think this is a good bet? :

Altior, Douvan, Thistlecrack, Uknowwhatimeanharry and Death Duty all to win any race at Cheltenham - 28/1.

After its last run i'd take on Thistlecrack with a donkey off Blackpool beach.

Which obviously means Thistlecrack will win

I have not been impressed with Death Duty. Don't be fooled by the list of 1's by his name, he was very lucky last race as Augusta Kate fell at the last when she was about to really give him a race.

Yeah, I had Thistlecrack in an ACCA that day too. Two ways of looking at it :

It's only had one season over fences so is suffering from overhype.

Or, it was barely beaten by a former National winner on soft, winter ground.........and the horse had to die to do it.

I'm thinking the second one here. I was thinking the first barely a couple of months ago until he destroyed Cue Card at the King George, unless Cue Card was on an off day but surely they'd have had him prepared for that one.

Yeah me too. I suppose a lot depends on how much that defeat to Many Clouds has taken out of him. Something we won't know until the day.

Link is apparently Barney Curley in one way or another...certainly plenty of money coming for them. No idea whether it's worth following but always intrigued to see how these things play out and how they can get away with it!

Weirdly, I put all four lingfield runners into my betting slip and it won't let me do any more than a single on each. If I add a horse not on that list I can do doubles but only the horse not on the list with each of the others.

I had no idea who he was so I Googled this Barney Curley last night, and needless to say I thought "I'm fucking on that!". Even for a £1 ACCA.

Like you though, neither Skybet or Paddy Power would let me make the bet. They must be wise to it.

I have a Betfair account, so I'm off to try now .

You leak a list of 'winners' that you're going to back.......The odds tumble on the 'selected' horses, the odds then drift on the other nags, one of which is the actual selection. This bollocks belongs in the conspiracy theory thread
