I think Bale has the best situation going from a purely selfish perspective

1. He is a guaranteed pick for Wales. Maybe if he was French, German or Italian he might have to work harder to get in the team and force a move to play each week.
2. He is getting paid a huge amount of money to do minimal amounts of work, why would he want that to change?
3. He has already established he can say what he likes and won’t be forced by the club to do a thing (China move and Wales, Golf, Madrid flag)

Why would he move and risk having to work hard, adjust and fit into a new team? He could simply carry out his current contract and retire, or to play for Cardiff. Nothing in his actions shows me he has much desire left to achieve, or he could have gone to Bayern, PSG or a number of other wealthy clubs.
Thank you, I will never hate a player who gets incredibly high wages not wanting to leave and get less, especially when in sports you have a pretty small window to make your nut. He has done/won everything on the club level and honestly will prob go to either PSG or a Japanese team post madrid because they will pay him relatively close to the amount he is making now to just jog around and score a couple of worldies. He would absolutely tear the french league up which seems less physical and especially at PSG where he would be surrounded by Neymar/Mbappe he would get tons of 1 on 1 opportunities to just do what he does best and thats cut in onto his left and bend it into the top left. Or he goes to Japan and rakes in the dough while also getting to live in a rad country (that is obsessed with golf) and improve his marketability. Plus a lot of players have moved to Japan and have been enjoying their twilight years (Iniesta, podolski) Also Bale will never be dropped from the Wales NT, he is by far their best player. Honestly I personally think going to Japan would be the best fit for him in 2 years. He would get on TV constantly to do golf exhibitions and they won't hate him their for it one bit, it would actually improve his image their hahaha. Anywho got sidetracked

The only person who can make this happen is bale himself. If he wants it it’ll happen. Nothing else is relevant, including whatever shite Barnett says.

He wanted that move to China and it didn't happen - think people underestimate the role of Madrid & their hierarchy in all this.

Is there land free around the training ground? Buy Whitewebbs golf course or promise him a nine hole course designed to his specifications and the deal is done!

agree, close the thread.
If we could guarantee that would be an end to it the thread would be closed the day it opened. Just keep it all here and if you don’t want to play then there’s a lot of other threads to get through in the next day or so (y)

Exactly and I hate the close thread stuff as others like discussing the what ifs etc... It really does get tedious that stuff

We've had ITK from dragon1 that there is a minuscule possibility, that's more than most of the players with threads in this forum.
The close the thread stuff is nonsense. We still have a Bruno Fernandes thread open.

I'm 99.999% sure there is no chance in hell that this will ever happen and that we are pointlessly discussing a scenario that just won't materialize. But its that 0.001% chance that gives us hope and ultimately kills us.

That being said, I fully expect Bale to be a Spurs player when the window closes, and if Levy can't pull this off I will lose all faith in him.

In fairness the Leandro Damaio thread is probably still open somewhere on the transfers page.

If I could, I'd really love to know exactly how close we got to signing Damaio. It went on for what felt like years - it always seemed so close - like you could open SC and it would be announced - but it never happened.

If I got to ask Daniel Levy one question and have him answer it honestly, it'd be, "Right, here, so Damaio, what the fuck was going on there, huh?"
