Barnett got Bale an £85m transfer to his dream club, and £600k a week on his second contract that still has another 2.5 years left to run. He’s the opposite of a shit agent. Plus, Bale has all the cards. He wants to play, he takes a pay cut. His choice. He wants the money? It’s his, he’s entitled to it. The reason he hasn’t moved is he’s completely priced himself out of any market and he alone can completely change that, not his agent.

And his agent almost got him a free transfer to China on a million a week or whatever it was.

I give up trying to read this and won't move from 'not happening while he's still world-class player'

I'll only repeat what I have suggested before that the one way to make the financiala work on our side would be to wave it in front of potential sponsors, in particular the as yet undiscovered stadium sponsor. It might be the difference between a deal and not. At the moment we are losing money every week by not having a stadium sponsor (however that's a really long-term deal and I agree with the patient approach as we've arguably not made the most of our kit deals for example)

Barrett can say what he likes and talk up his player, the fact is Bale’s stock is falling and fast. His value has halved in the past year and he is 148th in the world rankings. Age isn’t the only factor as there are quite a few older than him in the list, neither is contract length, as he has 2.5 years to go. I suspect Bale needs to move or risk going to the Euro’s out of form, probably his last chance to win anything with Wales, given his injury history.

An 18 month loan to us would be great in my view. Maybe Madrid could sell him after it ends, or he can raise his value and sign one last big deal.

And why does he seem to think that going on loan somewhere is such a terrible thing? Like only the worst players go on loan places.

The man is seriously weird and frankly has failed his client by allowing him to waste the last 1.5 years at that club.

Bale should've left right after the 2017-18 season. He won the CL for them (AGAIN) and that should've been the end of his time there.
How has he failed his client exactly? I mean Bale is on a long term contract earning £600k per week with as much time as he wants to perfect his golf game in a beautiful area of the world. Sounds as sweet as it gets for me. And I hate golf

Yeah I agree about David’s and VDV. Forgot about Adebayor, but he was damaged goods. Bale, Dybala etc most certainly aren’t.

Bale..ish. Dyabala not so much. But the gap between the club and those players is, imo, smaller than it was between the club and VDV/SEA when we signed them.

This is a textbook example of the ENIC window rumour mill. Levy 101. Every window there’s a link like this and like the seagulls we are, we follow the trawler dutifully looking for some fish.

Trouble is Captain Baldseye’s at the wheel and has us on a course away from Madrid towards some Belgian port called Benteke, where legend has it even visiting sailors couldn’t score in the brothels.

He’s just scored a very silly goal for Real. Not spectacular. Just silly. Not sure how to describe it.
