No wonder people end up having atomic hissyfits if they allow themselves to even begin to believe that Levy will suddenly transform into the ghost of Viv Nicholson (younger users need Google here)

Not only that but window after window, toward the end we get a big name thrown up and window after window it gets lapped up like a thirsty cat at a bowl of cream.

Why smell the coffee when the acrid stench of a freshly laid cowpat is on offer.

I hate your cryptics.

Barnett's comments are odd. One could easily also say, "He's one of the best players on earth, so why would he stay at a club where they don't appreciate him? He would walk into any side in the world."

And why does he seem to think that going on loan somewhere is such a terrible thing? Like only the worst players go on loan places.

The man is seriously weird and frankly has failed his client by allowing him to waste the last 1.5 years at that club.

Bale should've left right after the 2017-18 season. He won the CL for them (AGAIN) and that should've been the end of his time there.

Speaking about Bale at the Association of Football Agents meeting in North London, Barnett said: "He's got another two and a half years left on his contract, and he's fine. He will be there, everything will be fine.

This has been Barnet’s stance since Bale has gone there every time the player is linked with a move away. It never changes, which tells me there’s no chance he’s coming here.

Everyone should have a watch of Bale on BT’s What I wore programme. I just watched it and he’s a very humble guy, says he still loves spurs and seems genuinely decent. If he wanted to leave his agent wouldn’t be able to stand in his way though. If he wants to leave Madrid he will but he’s not going to force a move away. He loves it in Madrid and the prestige that comes with playing for them.

I get where you’re coming from but you have to factor in the excellent golf courses in the Madrid area.

I had to search through the archives but this reminded me of one of stories you wrote called, 'Daniel Levy's Game of Thrones.' Still makes me chuckle and a pertinent bit:

"Suddenly, from the direction of the pitch singing could be heard

I'm Bee Ess oh Dee Ell
I'm Bee Ess oh Dee Ell
I know I am, i'm sure I am
I'm Bee Ess oh Dee Ell

Lewis and Levy stood and went to the window to watch as Levy's sons gathered to serenade him. "See?" said Lewis……"with devotion like that you can get away with anything"

Levy smiled as a warm glow of affection and pride swept over him. "I think you're right" he said….. "

So Barnett was meeting up with Raiola who has been doing work for us.

The guy at Sociedad is repped by The Stellar Group, Barnet’s agency, could they of just been meeting to discuss the player and it’s nothing to do with Bale at all?

The agents comments are there to put added pressure on Real in my opinion. He almost left for China in the summer, there's issues between the player and the manager and the fans were giving him new levels of abuse after the golf banner incident. Obviously it doesn't mean that he will come to us, but I don't believe he wouldn't move if there was a decent offer and opportunity for him.

You say he’s failed his client, but I’m sure if Bale really desperately wanted to leave he would have.

Yeah it’s impossible not to retain a tiny bit of totally blind optimism that Levy and Lewis may have dropped a couple of tabs of acid at one of his private yacht parties, but the fact is the only really high profile players we’ve ever bought during ENIC’s time are David’s and VDV.

And neither of them were tied to insane mega money contracts and in VDV’s case it was more a transfer of pure opportunism at a bargain price, rather than slapping our balls on the table and making a real statement.

Barnett got Bale an £85m transfer to his dream club, and £600k a week on his second contract that still has another 2.5 years left to run. He’s the opposite of a shit agent. Plus, Bale has all the cards. He wants to play, he takes a pay cut. His choice. He wants the money? It’s his, he’s entitled to it. The reason he hasn’t moved is he’s completely priced himself out of any market and he alone can completely change that, not his agent.

I'd say that Adebayor was more high profile and was on a mega money contract.

Davids was aging and VDV was no more high profile then then Isco is now tbh

Yeah I agree about David’s and VDV. Forgot about Adebayor, but he was damaged goods. Bale, Dybala etc most certainly aren’t.

The only way I can see anything happening is if Bale wants to get games in before the Euro’s. Then he’ll risk injury

As attractive as it seems probably a no go but we’ll get a nice letter

Question is, do we want a 31 yrs old player on a multi-million budget?

*shots fired*

Never got the fascination with golf, the only fascinating thing I've watched golf related is the Tiger Woods documentary
