Shows why Pinehurst will be hosting so much over the next 20+ years.
It wouldn't be surprising to see some other course up their difficulty given the positive response to this. The PGA has to realize that toughening up the course adds to the drama.

Seen a few YouTubers playing pinewood #2 in the last couple of weeks. Admittedly the greens weren't quite up to tournament speed but there were still some brutal pin positions.
The YouTubers did just as well as most of the field here ;) (albeit under no pressure)

It was a bit of a case of who wanted to throw it away most yesterday with both Bryson and Rory making some schoolboy errors.
I've got a lot of time for Bryson though after watching a lot of him playing YouTube golfers like Grant Horvat, Good good (Garrett Clark) Rick Shiels he does a lot of weird handicap challenges like playing against these players with hickory clubs or feather balls or just 3 clubs and seems a decent likeable guy that didn't take himself too seriously.

Sergio is starting his own channel soon as well.

Our home course is a Ross course and it was quite fun watching the pros having to watch their approaches seem to be OK only to roll ten or twenty feet off the green, just like we do every week. None of the usual throw the ball at the pin and have it stop right there crap.

One thing that didn't get mentioned much in the broadcasts is how dusty that area is. We went down Friday and Sunday, and each time the first thing we did when we got home was throw our shoes in the washing machine. Then shower.

I hope he can win a major soon, I actually feel like this might spur him on to finally get over the line again. He needs to try and really get out in front and lead and dominate, all too often he’s having to put in a miraculous final round to win it so putting himself under insane pressure.

Struggling to see past Bryson for the Open, the way he plotted his way around Pinehurst was impressive, albeit with a few fortunate lies in the waste areas...which you need to win any tournament.

Scheffler is massively undercooked on Links courses, but he'll figure it out eventually, just not yet.
Rory - who knows? A LOT of scar tissue there now, which is being added to each Major.
Fleetwood always sounds like a good option, especially on this surface/set-up, but he's yet to win a PGA event, let alone a Major.

Watching the first hole tee shots at the Open brings back memories of when I played Troon a few years back. I wonder if any of the people walking their dogs on the beach ever found my ball ... 🤔

How did you get on at the Postage Stamp? I did what Rory just did and picked up after 7🤣

My home course is in amazing condition atm and the weather is fantastic - just had our club pro am and the best score was -1

Perfect time of year to get those handicaps down a bit!!

I’ve left the driver in my locker this last week and dropped 1.5 strokes!

Luckily I’m an old git so don’t worry so much about whacking it 300+ anymore…

yeah exactly the same as my course as well, playing lovely, handicap is still a struggle though, although I did only start in Feb this year, but like you not using the driver and almost broke 90 for the first time last weekend, messed up with a triple bogey on the 18th to score a 90, and that's also carding a 9 on the first, tough game!!

Blimey that’s pretty decent considering you’ve only been playing about 6 months!!! - actually that’s bloody fantastic, if you count every shot and hole out everything. You must be a very good sportsman and/or you’re still pretty young…

Ive been messing about with this stupid game for almost 50 years now. I’ll definitely get the hang of it one day!

Hope you’re getting a few lessons. Only way to try and do it properly
