So after watching the Manchester Utd game at the weekend and seeing how good Mason Greenwood is, it got me thinking that England really do have some super talented footballers coming through the ranks. Thought I would start a thread where we can discuss the future players & for other people to put some potential names forward from the academies.

Goalkeepers:
- Aaron Ramsdale - 22 years old (suggested by @Shadydan)

Full Backs:
- Trent Alexander-Arnold - 21 years old.
- Tariq Lamptey - 19 years old.
- Max Aarons - 20 years old.
- Jaydon Bogle - 19 years old.
- Reece James - 20 years old.
- Ryan Sessegnon - 20 years old.
- Dennis Cirkin - 18 years old (suggested by @Japhet)
- Brandon Williams - 19 years old (suggested by @ILS)

Centre Backs:
- Japhet Tanganga - 21 years old (suggested by @Shadydan)
- Lloyd Kelly - 21 years old (suggested by @Shadydan)
- Luis Binks - 18 years old (suggested by @edson)
- Teden Mengi - 18 years old (suggested by @ILS)

Centre Midfielders:
- Curtis Jones - 19 years old.
- Jude Bellingham - 17 years old.
- Declan Rice - 21 years old.
- Phil Foden - 20 years old.
- Mason Mount - 21 years old (suggested by @KingKay)
- Oliver Skipp - 19 years old (suggested by @Japhet)
- James Garner - 19 years old (suggested by @ILS)

Attacking Midfielders:
- Mason Greenwood - 18 years old.
- Jadon Sancho - 20 years old.
- Anthony Gordon - 19 years old.
- Callum Hudson-Odoi - 19 years old.
- Dwight McNeil - 20 year old.
- Bukayo Saka - 18 years old.
- Marcus Edwards - 21 years old (suggested by @KingKay)
- Harvey Elliott - 17 years old (suggested by @KingKay)
- Emile Smith-Rowe - 19 years old (suggested by @Shadydan)

Strikers:

What the list proves is we seem to be unearthing a lot of really good right backs, especially if you added AWB to this list aswell.

So put some names forward (21 being the oldest for outfield players) and let's see where these players end up in the years to come!

I'll keep adding the names mentioned & the person who suggested them.

Good idea for a thread. Also interesting to think who will make it to the Euro's, and how Foden fits into a midfield 3.

Mason Mount - 21 years old

Foden is 20 btw (y)

Oops, updated for Foden! (y)

I've added your two aswell! Will be interesting over time to see how many of them become fully fledged internationals.

Not much coming in in terms of CB's but due to the dearth of talent in this particular area you have to consider Tanganga, Tomori and Lloyd Kelly

Aaron Ramsdale is a huge talent by the way, again not many keepers coming through which makes him odds to battle it out with Dean Henderson for that keeper spot in the future.

Harvey Barnes, Emile Smith Rowe, Ademola Lookman, Ebere Eze to name but a few midfielders.

Still haven't got that anchor role tied down - if Billy Gilmore was English we'd be laughing.

Wouldn't be surprised if our own Oliver Skipp and Dennis Cirkin didn't make the list at some point. Of course, the fly in the ointment is that they have to be given a chance in the EPL.

So I've changed the OP to show the positions which gives a better outlook as to where we are covered. Some players play multiple like Sess & Saka so have put them in only one @ the minute.

I agree, we don't have too many centre backs or out & out forwards either, though Greenwood could end up being that.

England are short of top CBs and having watched a lot of youth football over the years you do not see many CBs that catch the eye but in saying that Luis Binks is going to be a very good CB and he is a natural leader, good on the ball short and long range passing is very good, he is very good in the air and does score goals the other end of the pitch, he is a intelligent player who reads the game very well.

His weakness is his pace and pull him out of position anywhere near the LB position and wingers will expose his pace but in saying that he could get faster and watching him most weeks when he was at Spurs I think he can get faster over the next few years.

Forgot to say he is a big Lad who I think with Tanganga out injured he might have been in our first team squad now if he had stayed but looking back it looks like he made the right decision.

Needs more right-backs.

Joking aside, this list looks tasty for the 2024 Euro's/2026 WC. Think the next Euro's and World Cup might come too soon for a lot of them, but give them 5 or 6 more years and I think many you have mentioned will be stars. I certainly can't remember a time in the last 20 years when we had this many talented 17-21 year-old's who are regularly getting playing time in the top 2 leagues.

Teden Mengi at Utd is very highly rated Centre Back along with James Garner in midfield who was the one being compared to Michael Carrick earlier in the season.

The one that baffles me who hasn't been brought up yet on the list is Brandon Williams. The lad plays both sides and has that nasty aggression about him to make it as a top full back.

I think he is going to be England Squad regular in the next couple of years due to his versatility.

All 3 added. Can't say I've heard of Mengi before but from a google search it appears he is a talent. Next in line to play for Utd maybe!

I love Tanganga, but I think Tomori is going to be equally as good at least.

McTominay plays for Scotland. Assuming you mean Declan Rice because he’ll almost certainly be the DM.
