Blimey, been a busy few days!

After Vettel says all is great and him and Ferrari are sorting out a new contract, turns out things aren't great and he's offski at the end of this season.

Then, in no big surprise to anyone, Sainz jumps ship this morning to join Leclerc (I would assume as his number 2) and Ricciardo has signed up with McLaren to take Carlos' place.

Always liked Ricciardo, should do well there. I wonder who Renault will be getting in?

I wonder if Vettel's contract demands are so high that he has not only pushed himself out of Ferrari, but he may also struggle to get a good offer anywhere else for 2021. Amazing how drivers seem to negotiate for months for a renewed contract but then as soon as it doesn't work out then the teams manage to sign replacements in less than 24 hours! There must be a lot of discussions going on behind the scenes.

Yeah, as much as Alonso has a soft spot for Renault I think he only wants to go to a team that he feels can challenge whereas Renault are going backwards recently. More likely Renault will promote a young driver

I'm disappointed that Netflix aren't there to capture all of this.

I think there is some truth in that, as due to his wages its no small investment to any team other than the top three to take him.
More so though I get the impression Vettel is just a little done with the sport. The culture at Ferrari probably hasn't helped, but I can see him happily escaping Motorsport for a couple of years for some family time and maybe hoping into a few other series once ready.

Would have loved to have seen Ricciardo at Ferrari as it just seemed fun (not that it would have worked), but him and Lando at McLaren will be fun to watch. Sainz I really, really hope he does well, and by that I mean replicates what Bottas has done at Mercades (lets be real Ferrari haven't brought him in to challenge Leclerc), but giving it a good go and getting some wins along the way.

I wonder if we will see Bottas to Renault and Russel to Mercedes?

Oi fuck off! It was bad enough when Mercedes took Bottas off us. We ain't some feeder team. We're not bloody West Ham.

Lol, whilst I am a Williams fan, and loosing Russel will suck, he is a Mercedes reserve driver. It's almost like moaning at a club who want their player back after a loan spell.

So what you're saying is we aren't even West Ham but rather one of those Dutch clubs Chelsea abuses to give its youth players match experience

Really hoping that any shortened season doesn’t include the Monaco borefest. In fact I’d be really happy if all seasons didn’t include it

I’d like to think that there’s a few buyers who would invest while keeping the Williams name

I'd like to think so too, but it isn't like a buyer is picking up a F1 team who's name has brand value attached outside of the sport (McLaren for example).

Anybody watch the race on the weekend? When Max went out I though oh well that's that done, guess the midfield will be interesting, but oh my what a race. Even the wife cheered when the 4.8secs came up after Lando crossed the line, and she hates F1

I enjoyed it, felt sorry for Albon (again), Lewis knew exactly what he was doing.

Albon was overly impetus there. If he had let it run just a couple of corners more he was going to get him but got too eager

Alonso back to Renault, I know everything that he’s done but surely time to move on to someone new

Yeah personally I find it just lacking in imagination, I mean I like Alonso but I does feel F1 is starting a new chapter with the young kids coming through. What is the point of Renault having a young driver program.
