Delighted to see our lads play a massive part in a great win. I always look forward to England games, it's still the pinnacle of a players career and I don't understand the 'I don't take interest in England unless they play well' mentality. That's glory hunting, well, not so much glory with England I guess, but certainly bandwagon jumping at its finest.

You wouldn't stop supporting/watching Spurs because we were crap or boring would you?

Alli was sublime last night. Man of the match for me. He was a constant threat when deployed further forward then dropped deep when Barkley came on and was still as influential. He's a special talent.

I thought it was noticeable how Welbeck differed from the other forward and midfield players in how comparatively little pressing he did.
At one point he was standing ten yards off their right back and I was thinking why are you not closing him down and I realised how normal our pressing game has become now, I just expect it to happen.
I'm not knocking Welbeck its just clear that it isn't his game at Arsenal.

I would play the same team in the euros, but with Rooney and Sturridge in place of Lallana and Wellbeck. Maybe Stones instead of Cahill.

No chance .

Woy has played Kane 98% of England's recent friendlies . He knows about Kane's U21 summer 2016 and his overload of matches since , but isn't interested imo. He'll love the headlines , Running our players into the ground now has no downside in his eyes . The interests of Spurs in a critical situation are of no concern . He's the opposite of S Korea .

I would advise pressure on Woy from Spurs to spread the load in these meaningless friendlies .He needs our co-operation as a club and needs to be reminded of it . Our hierarchy tho' won't defend our players like that unfortunately imo .

I think Hodgson has said he will play a completely different starting eleven, meaning if true only Kyle will start on Wednesday. The boys who played tonight may come off the bench though.

Stop taking the piss out of a speech impediment. Also, he'll be playing Sturridge, not Kane, against Holland.

Credit to Hodgson, he picked on-form players in the right formation and it worked a treat.

If everyine is fit, Rooney shouldn't be anywhere near this side now. His time has passed.

Too Right. I personally wouldn't trust Roy as far as I could throw him...

Time for us to throw our weight around. We form the core of the England squad and everybody knows it. They had better start consulting with us and take our interests into account...

But he's going to play, regardless of what anyone thinks, so I'm thinking of how best to accommodate him. He's also one of the only players with the experience of big tournaments.

What i think is great is all scorers from us or Leicester. Top two in the league and doing it for England. Fuck you city, chelsea, scum etc.

For once looking forward to a football summer with England.

Discussing this very subject now on TS. Quinny in full agreement, and it's time for a new generation.

It's a discussion that shouldn't even need to be so hotly debated. After yesterday it's a no brainer. England has suffered for years in rigid and predictable popularism (is that a word?!) In team selections. Roy has a team now that will actually gel and have a go. I just don't see what the aforementioned players can bring to the England set up that is better than last night. Sure, the team that beat Germany could do with a little fine tuning. (CB/ rb) reverting back to type will be a massive, predictable step backwards and show a total lack of progressive management.

I agree about Welbeck but I think he can adapt. He has the stamina and intensity for it.

I also think Sterling and Sturridge can adapt too. Rooney is the odd man out.

Regarding Henderson, his problem in that midfield three is that he can't pass consistently, that's why Hodgson is desperate for Wilshire. There's no one else that can pass from deep.

I saw a tweet that suggested Hodgson was thinking of playing Stones in midfield. It's an interesting idea but he needs to stay in defence because Smalling and Cahill are bad on the ball.

Noticeable difference between the Spurs boys (and Vardy) and the rest - hunger, determination and fitness. Brilliant.

You do know that Roy will drop Dier for wilshere if fit though, and Alli for Rooney probably don't you? If he does i'm supporting Wales.

I thought Welbeck did ok. He ran at them and made some nice passes. He gets in the squad in my book. Just needs to learn how to keep the pressing game going.
