And fast.

Look what we had 4 years ago compared to this.

Sorry but time for ENIC to do the right thing and sell to someone who can take us forward.
Jimbo if 78 is the year you were born then you are old enough to remember what we had 14 years ago, that was much worse. We are still one of the top clubs in the country. Quit whining.

Put your money where your mouth is and make Levy an offer to buy the club.

Why the vitriol? OK this could have gone into any of the existing threads but are we anywhere near the team of just two or three years ago? Anywhere near the team that got and then played in the CL?

So if someone thinks that the constant chopping and changing is coming home to roost, its a fair argument isn't it?

I'll merge this later when I got a minute, which will meanwhile give the BSoDL time to formulate their reasons as to why Levy shouln't be blamed for our apparent decline and the anti-Levyites time to ready make sure their cocks are up to the job.

I would love to compare the team sheets from each season first game and see how we different they are,

Levy's shit, the team's shit, we're going backwards, Poch<LVG, Kaboul's a cock, Ade's lazy, Sandro's a clown, Lennon's not progressed, Soldado and Lamela are a waste of money, Rose has an attitude, we always leave things to the last minute, the kits naff, chirpys a wanker, our physios don't know what they're doing...blaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh, blllllaaahhhhhhhhhhh, BORING.

Yeah but come on boss man, as I said in the TR thread a minute ago the view for most of the summer is that we should stick with what we have for once... A defeat and now we have people doing the same as every year, toys out of the pram demanding we spend money and another 5 signings and demanding even more chopping and changing.

What if the view of those at the club this year is that they have learned lessons and they want to give this group a chance? Giving the manager a chance with a reasonably well bedded in squad now to get them functioning as team, and maybe forgoing signings for a window or two as Poch assesses properly what is at the club already is the best thing for us at this stage...

Some will just want even more signings though.

2014/2015 (Subject to deadline day changes)
Lloris, Vorm, Friedel
Walker, Naughton, Yedlin
Vertonghen, Fazio, Dier, Kaboul, Chiriches
Rose, Davies
Dembele, Capoue, Stambouli, Bentaleb, Mason, Sandro, Holtby (Know he's on loan but technically still our player)
Eriksen, Lamela, Paulinho, Chadli, Townsend, Lennon
Adebayor, Soldado, Kane

2010/2011
Gomes, Cudicini, Pletikosa
Corluka, Hutton
Kaboul, Dawson, King (crocked), Woodgate, Gallas, Bassong
Assou Ekotto
Huddlestone, Bentley, Lennon, Jenas, Palacios, O'Hara, Pienaar, Kranjcar
Bale, Modric, VdV
Pavlyuchenko, Keane, Defoe, Crouch, dos Santos

Our squad has improved and is so much better than it was in the years you mentioned. Quit knee jerking.

Our squad is deeper now but our first XI doesn't have the quality it had back then. Be interesting to see how a combined XI would look like.
Lloris, Walker, King, Verts, BAE, Stambouli (?), Modric, Bale, Eriksen, VDV, Adebayor. Something like that maybe?
The three names that stick out were obviously going to be hard to replace and make all the difference when comparing the two squads/teams.

People seem to go mad on deadline day. We have not invested in the side properly for a while now but I have to assume there is a reason for that. The training centre, stadium issue etc, and if that is the case then that's perfectly acceptable.

Losing the likes of Modric and Bale was always going to hit us hard.

Have we gone backwards? Yes, obviously we have otherwise we would still be finishing 4th, but its never as simple as that.

Deadline day seems to exaggerate people's frustrations. If we have not improved the first XI over the whole of the pre-season, player wise, then it would be ridiculous to expect us to do something in the last few hours to change that.

Merged with the thread that is already here about Levy and Enic taking us as far as they can.

You might be right, you might not be, but all the same, right or wrong, it doesn't deserve being told to fuck off or whetnot. If lessons have been learned and we're embarking on yet another five year plan, then there's bound to be frustration.

Why do people respond with things like that? Why does challenging those in charge of the club get dismissed as 'whingeing'? Do people not realise that what is best for the FOOTBALL CLUB is not necessarily what is best for those running it? And for goodness sake please don't trot out the Enic propaganda about 'doing a Leeds'.

The only reason it is trotted out is because it is one of the main reasons we don't go and spend a lot of money players. We don't have the money.

Whilst i disagree strongly with Jimbo87, I do make you right about telling him to 'fuck off'. He is just expressing his opinion.

And people are expressing their feelings towards his opinion.

Thank goodness for what's left of free speech eh?

What do people really think ENIC are going to do? Step back and offer the club they've done so much to improve for sale on the cheap? It isn't a democracy, ENIC are the majority owners. And of course there are so many mega rich owners just sitting there waiting for Daniel Levy to hand them the keys to White Hart Lane so they can spend hundreds of millions (somehow circumventing FFP) on the playing squad and waltzing the new stadium through planning procedures.

Every transfer window people get their hopes up that we'll wake up to another VDV shaped surprise, but it's very unlikely to happen. Stop kidding yourselves!

Ok then, what is in the best interest of the football club as a whole?

A. Investing in infrastructure to generate a higher match day income thus enabling Spurs to invest more in the first team squad

or

B. Signing players that we can't really afford in the very slim hopes of earning a spot the champions league playoff.

They're the two choices, pick one.

Oh and ENIC don't do propaganda because they don't give a damn what you think, think of them as the parent that is forcing you to get your inoculations.

I'm not Levy's biggest fan and the same is true about ENIC, I'd love Levy to be held more accountable.

The poster said sell to someone who can take us forward. But then omitted to even give any indications as to who that was.

Every single person on here wants us to improve, just shouting the equivalent of "do something" is about as useful as those who booed at half time yesterday or walked out of the ground with 15 minutes to go yesterday. I don't see how any of those are particularly helpful, even in debating.

If the poster had said for example I wish Levy would sell up to The Qatari's then at least we could debate the relative pros and cons.

Somewhat disappointed but in no way surprised , with no additional striker and only ade, Kane, and soldado to choose from expectations have been lowered for me. Losing Sandro is a blow i think and no nippy left winger ala depay and with Lennon and Townsend still here I'm a tad pissed off. 6th is about the best we can hope for but I'd love to be proven wrong.
