There's a long way between £20-25m and £35-40m.

I can see them offering players but I'd take the cash, no players.

I thought he was settled in London? Might be a stupid question but would he want to leave London for Manchester?

I have no issue with selling Modric this time around. Don't even care to whom. I know I am in a minority. And I don't say that without knowing that he is a very important part to our success over the past few and that the adjustment to life without him will not be straightforward. But we can do this. But there is only one way we can do this and that is with a replacement. I don't mean Modric mach 2, although that would be fine. But a person who will fit into a system that can help us keep the midfield. That's the key to all of this. Do we have that person? Not on the first team. And I don't know enough about the academy to judge. So my gut tells me we have to buy. And a replacement/system is very contingent on the manager. So we need to get a lot done quickly.

I know he had fitness issues, but did he fall out with Redknapp at all in the last year or so JJ? Seemed to drop out the team so suddenly and completely for a player with such great technique... :(

We're considering selling to United? Really?

That's incredibly disappointing to hear. How do we expect to get anywhere near the top if we keep selling our best players to the teams above us? I'd like to think we'd accept a slightly lower offer from a team abroad before them lot.

Its not total BS. They have offered less than that though.

He will go if they offer the right fee and DL will sell this time around.
Thanks for the heads up, JJ, but that is most disappointing news. I had hoped that the days of us selling our best players to them were over. I'm relatively okay with him going abroad, but not to another PL team.

I think the possibility of a summer like the last, uncertainty over the manager and £35m+ being a lot of money might be why we will sell him this summer.

Would rather abroad and would still expect some serious offer from overseas.

Not really a falling out. He just wanted to play every week and Harry(rightly or wrongly) preferred Rafa. Somewhere in the middle of that is what should have happened but its difficult for Harry as its a result business and he is set in his ways.

I know what is going on Spuvert but you can educate the rest of the site ;)

Tell them they can have him for 50 million cash and by next week so we can start getting our players in!!

JJ you make it sound like we're relying on player sales for our new signings.

I hope we're looking at some more inspiring targets than Remy if we can only fund them by selling Modric to United :/

I thought Luka was disappointing this year, for what ever reason if we cant get the best out of him and we can get 35mill or so, then I think its good business and we should get some one who wants to play for us.

But like JJ said, we need big money and we need it early so we can get a world class replacement.

Also if JJ is saying Levy will sell to United for £35-40m then I don't think he'll be going to United. I don't see them offering that.
