POTL is talking about positions ie AVB sees Holtby as a deeper midfield player, not an attacking central midfielder.

Which is good......and also means in his eyes we have one less attacking midfielder!........and hopefully meaning he still wants to sign another ;)..............probably.....maybe......hopefully........fuck knows!

Interesting Andre seemingly doesn't rate Holtby.
Lots said he was an Andre signing, I still believe it was 100% committee, like all of our signings.
Holtby did struggle to bed in too and looked a bit lost at times. Didn't start a couple of matches he could have and now facing an uphill battle having missed preseason.
I think he has potential but like Siggy he may suffer insofar as he has no definitive position in our starting line up.

(Snarf will be gutted.)

I'm absolutely positive that we won't sign Holtby for millions in January, when we can have him for nothing in the summer... :)

Interesting that AVB sees Holtby as a deep lying mid. I think there were some quotes that that was his preferred position too...

heard the same today about parker.
fulham are hoping to do the deal today.
the deal with QPR will see him get a hefty bonus if they get promoted.
its up to him to decide.

So either bale isn't playing the first few games because he will be sold on the last day of the window or its because we want him to have a proper preseason now before he starts playing.

Could be either one really.

If he wants to go to World Cup it's Fulham, if he wants a nice pension fund QPR. Interesting to see which way he goes...

Great news about Carroll and Holtby being in AVB's plans - have high hopes for these two.

agree with this, not sure he can handle the pace of the premiership...heard a few bundesliga teams sniffing around , wouldnt be surprised if he was offlaoded especially if erikssen comes in

I thought the ITK was bundesliga clubs in for sigurdsson not holtby... probably both in hindsight. Would be pretty disappointed if one or both were sold to be honest.

Holtby is a player who would benefit the right loan move, still think he is adapting but I've seen enough to know he'll be a decent squad player,

Wherever Parker ends up all the best to him, he is a true Pro and abit of a throw back to older generation midfielders,

I think andre likes that deep def mid who acts like a quarter back - the role that andre gave hudd last season. i got really poor memory so not sure what holtby passing is like, but he certainly picks up the play and keep the ball moving. I think he makes a lot more passes than our other number '10'S. Our new modric?

Holtby will play plenty of games with us this year don't you worry.
