That’s really taken out of context. What Levy is actually referring to is net spend. This forum and the PL in general are obsessed with it, and use it to make statements about ambition. Levy’s point is that what counts is who you bring in not how much you have spent. It is about being financially responsible, but that sort of thing is completely lost when the average fan watches Chelsea and City get to where they are based on unabated spending.Barcelona don’t have a chairman who believes English clubs need to stop spending money and follow the European model of not spending much!
Back on topic, that’s really interesting iTK from Herc. If we have always known Eriksen wasn’t keen to extend again, you have to wonder why he hasn’t been moved on or why mitigation plans in terms of recruitment haven’t been put in place.
I hope when talking about loan deals it’s about moving players on (e.g. Rose) and not bringing them in. We need to back Mourinho with some signings on intent this month!
