Summer interest in O’Neil, Eze, Bowen among others. Jan interest in Ferg and MA. Our transfer strategy is evidently *in part* driven by recruiting the best homegrown young talent. This for me is what our club is all about (along with a successful academy of course) and I’m all for it. Also shows that we have an eye on the future so hopefully we have learnt from our mistakes (standing still and allowing our squad to decline).

Well gedson max Aaron’s and a striker would be a great window imo and the start of the rebuild

To clarify, I have been told we are in dialogue with both Max Aaron’s and Ferguson of WBA and their respective clubs. Both are on a list of RBs, one of whom will likely come in should KWP leave.

Little update. If (which I expect-opinion) we activate GLC’s loan to a permanent, our now until mainly summer will see JM get his 5 players in total that he wants. You will then see couple youngsters come in, like O’Neil (possibly-opinion, as failed in the summer), and defo Eze (more than opinion). If GLC signs and DL faks up with bullshit lies and broken promises, expect fireworks to the media.

His agents and team deliberately leaking to the media, and club dear not tackle it. He is already hinting in interviews, but you have to listen very carefully. And regardless of what you hear, he is keen on BF. But could only see in the summer. Challenges ahead for DL.
We're one of the ten richest clubs in Europe, posted the highest profits in the history of world football in our last published accounts, and have earned something like ~150m from the CL over the past two seasons (not to mention whatever we might earn from the knockout stage still to come).

The squad was disgracefully neglected for years up until last summer, and this season is absolute proof that the holes that were allowed to develop have now caught up with us. While I understand that ENIC invested in the stadium, the build is now complete and if Tifo Football's reporting on the issue is to be believed is now paying for itself.

I refuse to believe that there is not money to spend -- that would be completely at odds with the fact that we have been roundly outspent by clubs with a fraction of our resources -- so for me the rest of this window and the summer will demonstrate just how serious or not serious Levy actually is about winning things. Our recruitment has been inept for a long time and we've got to use the lavish resources at our disposal to begin to dig ourselves out of the hole.

This is great news. Who’s driving KWP to Palace?

KWP will only happen if we bring in a RB. And I feel he will go Palace on initial loan with option. Only deal we will consider.

Getting to work on the RB position (which I think all of us agree needs 2 in there) this window is hugely important in my opinion. Got to think Aurier is only playing there out of necessity and it sounds like Foyth isn’t an option there (and also could be loaned/sold which sucks).

Can't see Norwich selling Aarons unless they are essentially conceding relegation. They can get a big price in the summer as well, so may as well try to luck/fight their way out of it and only sell assets if unsuccessful.

Very good to hear we are looking for a priority position though, and that the targets are realistic from a price/wage/competition standpoint even if clubs are not incentivized to sell in January.

Last I'll say on this, but big players would have asked to leave had Poch stayed. I know people don't like hearing it but it's true. Everything the bought into with Poch his philosophy etc changed in the final year. It would have literally been like starting from scratch.

Explains perfectly why the Poch meltdown started around that time. Was it psychological? Did he become too big for his boots or was it something else. His behaviour was bizarre at times. The pressers for example were tense. Was he trying to exit after missing out on the Real and Manure jobs? Midlife crisis? Hard to tell how it all came awry. Thanks Trix sheds light on why Levy made his decision.

We have been in dialogue with Max for the last 18 months. We still didn’t make an offer for him last summer as we wanted to see how he developed in the Prem this season. However it’s looking very unlikely Norwich will let him go in Jan. This could be one for the summer if we don’t go for other options sooner.

WBA is fighting for promotion, Norwich is fighting to prevent relegation. The former more likely to succeed than the latter, as it seems right now. But it would take a ridiculous offer for any of the clubs to part with their first choice for RB in this window. The PL money amounts to tenfold (or hundred fold) what we would offer for either MA or Ferguson. I’d doubt any would even consider a deal including KWP to be interesting enough to consider atm, as both players would/could still be sold for a healthy sum of money come summer.

Confused...We were told that Jose had a budget and will be backed but now suddenly we are financially restricted and cant really do anything other than loans until the Summer. Its literally just the same old story isnt it? Disappointing to read but thanks for passing on.

100 percent this, every year its the same.

That honestly baffles me. Helped put Liverpool on the back foot when he came on, looks a class player.

Don't forget that it's unlikely the info came from after the Liverpool game. It's entirely possible for players to change a managers mind, more performances like that will surely help.
