To add further misery, the players changing rooms were broken into. Let’s just say Toby is not happy at all! On a positive note they caught the bloke.

That’s bad the changing rooms got broken into, you’d think security would be tighter!

Although is it just a coincidence we were playing the bin dippers... :cautious:

In line with what Herc said, we are in a good position to sign Eze in the summer but he is highly unlikely to be joining this window. That said, other big clubs are keen on him including Manchester United, so we will have to be quick and efficient to get him in the summer. He prefers us though

Confused...We were told that Jose had a budget and will be backed but now suddenly we are financially restricted and cant really do anything other than loans until the Summer. Its literally just the same old story isnt it? Disappointing to read but thanks for passing on.

I take it as a couple of outright signings and 2 loans with an option/compulsory purchase in the summer/18 months time. Depending on who the outright signings are, given the players we’ve been linked with we could be spending circa £130m which could be our entire January budget hence the additional loans.

A little heads up. We ideally want CB, Midfielder, striker. With our budgeting, aiming for 2 loans. I think we will bring in one midfielder (Benfica Fernandes) and striker (loan). Can’t see 3. As we are financially restricted until the summer. Not unusual to hear multiple names/targets, who we have/are speaking to. We will speak to 3-4, with only one out that lot being done. Frugal way in January market. The targets are on the list, and if can do deal early (loan options) we would do them. I have already explained the thinking.

Thanks!
Dont sound to good with bruno Fernandes then :/

What's the difference if we buy now or in summer ? It's a new year and new bookings ? (Not directed towards you) or how does it work in the football world? When is "start" and "end " of 1 financial year?

I read it completely diff but as Im sure Herc will admit...clarity in his posts isnt his strong point lol.

I hope you are correct though pal

Out of interest is there any ITK on whether a witch-doctor has really told Levy he will die on the day Spurs splash out a top quality right back.

Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Hmmmmm loaning a striker seems kinda cheap to me as we need a permanent one really.

I‘d only hope if we do get one on loan aside from the options part of it works that we’d definitely be looking To get a permanent one in the summer rather then just relying on Kane all the time.

Think its more fear of a Janssen mark 2. Especially with the market being limited in January too. Gives us a chance to back out if they don't deliver. In theory Parrott should be breaking through within 2 seasons so no point gambling too much on one this window.

Pick up Piatek, if he doesn't work out you send him back in the Summer and try again, if he rips it up pay the option fee.

I read it as 2 loans only sadly.

Quick and efficient you say?

Not sure 31st August will tick those boxes ?

Very odd information that.

Why the hell are we constricted this window?

Gedson strikes me as a opportunistic move after the surprise Sissoko injury. A striker is needed because of the unexpected Kane injury. So the idea that we are only covering what we have lost is just bloody mind boggling. That even before Eriksen and Wanyama likely walk out the door in January.

In the summer it was stated by many itks Lo Celso plus one to replace Eriksen. So Where's Eriksens replacement.?

We really do enjoy playing catch up don't we. Reactive not proactive.

I can only assume the lack of DMs mentioned is because there is no suitable available players out there.

I know we are not allowed to ask ITK's questions so I wont but it would be very helpful if the latest bit of info was clarified slightly. Nobody knows if it is meant to suggest that 2 loans are the only pieces of business we will do or if the 2 loans will be extra after actual purchases.

It's most likely we "sign" 2 loans this window because of the money isn't there now but will be to the summer

The irony is that once upon a time not so long ago we used to stockpile right backs

When we were restricted by FFP? Also, stadium investment doesn't count in that

Everyone in the league is restricted by FFP (or namely, profit and sustainability/short-term cost controls).

We've already spent (including Lo Celso commitment) over £100m this season net, without costs in changing coaching staff, so it's completely plausible. No one else is doing anything of note so far, so no idea why it's treated as if we're outliers.

It's ridiculous to me that we're prioritizing signing a CB over a RB, especially considering we just had Tanganga step in and put in a class performance at CB. If we loan out/sell Foyth and KWP we literally have no other RB besides Aurier in the squad.

So sacking the manager and his staff has fecked the transfer window due to FFP.
At least it's a better excuse then we tried and couldn't get it over the line.

If we have a plan and have already identified targets for the summer in those key areas, and they aren't gettable in January, then this all makes sense. Why we are financially constrained, and targeting players in positions that we aren't in dire need of currently. Plus our budget would be hampered if we dont get CL.
Davies should be back soon, and that will do us alot of good.
