As I've said numerous times over the past week, very telling that POTL has been eerily quiet on the Bale situation. He is what I consider a positive only type ITK, so that fact that he is not out saying that Bale is definitely staying and Born to play for Spurs is very telling to me.

And that's almost as big a problem as letting Bale leave us IMO unfortunately, we all know if we rinse Real Madrid they won't have enough for Suarez and the Arse'll probably get him - they need to show intent and spend some money or their fans will go even more mental, my worry is that he'll win them a lot of games when they perform badly like RVP used to.
I think most people agree that Suarez is next on the list for Perez if his number one target somehow goes astray, but the chances of that delicious combination seem low if JJ's so adamant.
It's such a bastard that losing our best player will probably give the Goons an excellent one, whereas keeping ours will deny them. :cautious:

There no way Madrid can afford both players this window.

Best case scenario assuming Bale is off -
1.) We outbid Arsenal for Suarez and buy him.
2.) Arsenal have no targets, thus spend none of the money they have.
3.) We buy a couple more players with the rest of the Bale money.
4.) We win the title, Arsenal finish 5th.
5.) After Suarez scored 35 goals for us, Madrid come and buy him for £100 million.
6.) Rinse and repeat with next world class talent Arsenal are interested in.
7.)????
8.) Profit.

Firstly, let me say that I really enjoy JJ jumping into these threads late into the evening (U.K. time), as it's still early enough for those of us in North America to still be awake!

Secondly, as I've said several times in the last week, JJetset's reputation and quality of information has no equal. Until he changes his tune on Bale leaving, I'll assume he will be off.

The key to this entire deal, as I've said since it first surfaced that Bale may go, is whether Madrid can convince Coentrao and Di Maria to come back to us. Coentrao, according to Marca, would welcome a move. He's on reasonable wages and a huge upgrade, so that would strengthen us greatly. Di Maria, according to reports, doesn't want to leave Madrid, but he'd be the most realistic and best option we could get to replace Bale.

JJ--Is there any sense from our side whether certain Madrid players would be willing to come to us? That, to me, will define whether this a good deal for us or not.

Could be Morata as well..... anoher Spainish with reasonable wages.

I thought so too - he did say a couple of weeks ago that Bale's new contract was close, but since these stories started to break he's not said anything about it, while he has commented on Soldado and others. Then again I'm pretty sure Potl works at the club in some way and everyone at the club has been told to be totally silent on the matter so perhaps he is extending that to what he posts on Coys as well. Who knows? I imagine it's probably the case that he has heard Bale is off and doesn't want to post about it.

Lamela seems a bit pie in the sky for us! I think Townsend is a ready made bale replacement plus he's a yid so no chance of him fucking off to Madrid

Seen fredericks confirm he will probably go out on loan earlier too!

I can't imagine JJ would be saying that without having some sort of information that we will be reinvesting the Bale money. Sounds like, despite knowing we will be selling Bale, we still have more work to be done in the window and it could be substantial. Just how I read it at least. It'll be interesting for sure. I guess it will come down to how the new faces acclimatize.

If Bale is sold it will fucking need to be substantial, unprecedented, and possibly earth-shattering. It's no good selling high and buying low, we need to back the new signings already made with quality should Perez appear with a barrow load of cash at WHL next week. For Levy, Baldini and AVB it will be a case of shit or bust if Bale is sold, no half measures or players brought in from the likes of Wigan.

Quality is the key, and don't let the ink dry on the cheque Danny Boy!

The disagreement amongst ITK's is understandable. Since a deal has clearly not been made, there is conjecture involved on the part of sources. Some likely believe RM will come up with the money to make a big offer and some likely believe they won't. Even if the source is Daniel Levy himself, until RM make an official offer that meets his demands, nobody knows for certain that Bale will be off. Levy's already shown once that he, not the player, will make that determination.

It depends are willing to break our record for the third time in one window and potentially by £10million only after breaking the last transfer record by £10 million for a player

I think Lamela could be awesome for us but I dont know if Roma want to deal with us after taking Baldini off them

Also Fredricks probably go to league 1 tbh

Any deal for Lamela wouldn't be easy, he's 3rd party owned ( never easy ) doesn't qualify for work permit ( although would get a special talent 1), Monaco are after him, Brilliant player but I don't think we'd get him

Didn't Roma basically fire Baldini?

Lamela has a dual nationality. Argentina/Spain.

Oh dear.

What are the odds? I take a break from this thread in an effort to preserve my sanity after so much exposure to ****yness only to return at almost the exact moment of another outbreak. Someone up there hates me.
