Are you saying you'd rather have Townsend, Rose and Carroll than Lamela, Coentrao and Eriksen?

It's a shame that English players aren't very good at the moment, but we shouldn't just keep them in the squad for the sake of it if better players are available and we have the money to make it happen.

I saw a bit of Eriksen at the Euros and he didn't impress me, if Dempsey had put in the performances Eriksen did he would have been slated on here so I'd keep faith with Carroll.

Of course Lamela and Coentrao are better than Rose and Townsend but if I sent Rose and Townsend on loan and also told them they had a first team future with us if they did well, I would stick by my word. I wouldn't bullshit them and put them even further down the pecking order at the first available opportunity.

The goats Willian news is very pleasing :) I'm torn between who I want more Willian or Lamela. Lamela will get more goals but isnt as creative Willians very creative but not many goals! I guess with Willian he would hopefully lay on alot of goals for our new star striker though. Hmmmm can we have both? ;)

I have a picture of Baldini in a Yellow Hard Hat jet setting around Europe, with the Bob The Builder theme Tune playing in the Background

Can He Fix It

YES HE CAN!!!"

I think there is more than enough games to play esp during the mid season.... no reason not to play them.

I'm re-opening this because after sitting in the garden with an espresso awaiting the horny pixie and mulling things over I realised there was a strange twitching in my panties. Then I realised it was the thought of being nasty nazi A&C again that was turning me on.

So here you go, feel free and fill your boots. Talk about anything you like. I'm begging you.

You bastards aren't going to deny me and by banstick are you? Don't let me down. I've had a bet I get into double figures today.

But how often will they be played? I mean it's no use keeping them on the bench for long periods of time and then expecting them to put in a star performance.

To start with we have no idea that AVB or anyone else has said that to Rose or Townsend.

Even if he did, doing okay at Sunderland and QPR respectively doesn't necessarily equate to doing well enough to play for a top 4 team.

And on top of that, all of that occurred before we had a potential 85m windfall to spend, and that really does change everything.

We're looking very likely to lose our best player. There's no room for sentiment in trying to rectify that situation.

Come October and two games a week in far corners of Europe, and we'll be glad of a big, quality squad competing for places.

Rotation!

I think we have some idea he's praised their progress and hasn't let Sunderland and QPR buy them.

Back in May before the end of the season is the latest he knew about the windfall IMO.

I've said all along that our best player won't go and nothing that I've heard has made me think otherwise.

I'm sorry, I thought this was the ITK discussion thread not the lets talk bollocks about fantasy football thread. This can now be locked and I can go sit in the garden hoping a horny pixie who is well blessed in the norks department will happen by to tickle my town halls.

It looks like I now have nowhere left to go with this but to return to being Nazi A&C

Fun for me, bad for some of you. When this eventually re-opens I reckon within 20 minutes the old A.D.D will kick in and people start losing their access.

Sorry boss. :sorry:

Donation sent to show my remorse.

In 2 weeks we will be looking back at a net spend this window of zero. And they have known it all along. Master stroke in business terms

Net spend of zero while significantly strengthening the squad is bloody genius imo.

My fear is (as alluded to earlier) that we do not have a stronger squad if Bale leaves: we have a great squad if he stays but we still need to make significant movement if he goes.
We have ITK on Coentrao - but that means dealing with Real and any conversation there will presumably turn to Bale. So, with BAE seemingly on the way out, we need another LB
We have ITK on Lamela and Willian but neither is better than Bale.
For the team to be stronger, we need it to be a team and that means the players being ready to play together - selling Bale st a late stage robs us of the opportunity for any replacement to bed in.

God we need some ITK to chew over!

If we sell Bale then a net spend of 0 would mean (assuming we have a couple yet to be sold, probably Benoit and Adebayor) we will spend about £120m overall...which means another £60m yet to be spent. That could result in a seriously strengthened squad. If we end up sellling Bale and making a substantial profit (10m+) this window then eyebrows will be raised.

I think that the squad is stronger simply because we have strength in depth, that will help avoid the same kind of slumps. Of course we will miss our 'main man', but I am like you hopeful that his departure will mean the signing of Lamela/Willian who may not be better than Bale (another discussion) but will take the squad to another level along with the other signings. IMO the combined ITK points to us working toward a CB, a LB and a creative wing forward type player and I'd be happy with that.

Real quality players don't need as much time to bed in imo especially coming into strong team.
