Trix - this isn't aimed at you but the info.

I hate this thinking - a striker that won't play. I get Kane is the man but even he needs somebody to keep him on his toes. Why not a flexible forward? We've been after similar before. Christ we almost signed Dybala and Martial before that.

We need another striker. That is fact. Jose has said it. It's another that is several windows too bloody late.

Yeah the problem is also that strikers always cost more money than the average player. It’s always been so, ever since I started watching football.

To get a striker that is not really expecting to play, that also happens to be good and for very little money is not an easy task.

Thankful for all the ITK posts recently

Seasons a bit of a shamble already. Might as well get a laugh out of it. Bring in Mario

It could show a lack of planning... Or it shows a club that won’t waste £30m on signing Piatek who isn’t premier league proven which is prudent. It shows a club that won’t just take a big money player like Bale back without making him fit to the clubs financial model.

I actually think it’s excellent planning to make solid deals in January where possible and keep the powder dry for bigger fish in the summer window.
Well said that man.....I assume you’re a man. This season is a shit show. Why sign players for the sake of it? Granted a striker would be useful, but I think we can all agree that none of the names mentioned are that inspiring. As a club we’re piss poor at offloading players, so why buy mediocre players that will potentially hinder us in the summer..... when we may actually buy someone decent.

Clinton N’Jie says hi.

Thanks to all the ITK. Seems like we are playing the desperation card, but glad to hear we are trying to keep the pathway clear for Troy.

Personally I would love to see Balotelli scoring a hat trick against citeh and then getting a redcard for headbutting Otamendi, would be worth every penny.

I actually think Balotelli would be ok with our squad. We've had no trouble with Aurier since he arrived. He'll have good people around him and to whoever suggested he can't change of course he can. Some people just take a while to mature like Jon Jones for example. I'd be more concerned with whether he's actually that good a player now. He certainly hasn't reached the potential he once had.

Don't you mean towels?
Another impressive stat:

Teams played for: 7
Bridges burnt: 7

Kane is questionable to return at all this year and even if he does there will probably only be a few weeks left in the season.

We have 14 Premier League games left
a minimum of 2 Champions League games left and 1 FA Cup game.

If we bring in Balotelli and he could go on and knock-in 1 out of 2 like he historically does we theoretically look at progressing in two competitions and a real push for top 4. Without a striker, I can't see us doing much better points per game-wise then we have been doing this season so far. We just don't have anyone that can hold up the ball and bring our speedy wide players into the game.

Would be dead against Balotelli if Jose wasn’t our manager but have a feeling it might just be a match made in heaven. Bring it on death or glory!

I can't post it on here, but go onto YouTube and watch Mario Balotelli vs Juventus (24/09/2019) (Debut).
If we're gonna sign a average striker, we may as well get some entertainment and sign him. He'll be a right laugh.

Giroud I’d be ok with for a few months, he’s not one of the ex gooners who was cocky or gobby etc so I’d be ok welcoming him. Very good hold up player and can score a few goals. Like many here though, not sure Chelsea would sell to us.

Balotelli - whenever I think of him, I think of this quote from Jose:

“I could write a book of 200 pages of my two years at Inter with Mario, but the book would not be a drama – it would be a comedy,” the tactician said.

“I remember one time when we went to play Kazan in the Champions League. In that match I had all my strikers injured. No Diego Milito, no Samuel Eto’o, I was really in trouble and Mario was the only one.

“Mario got a yellow card in the 42nd minute, so when I got to the dressing room at half-time I spend about 14 minutes of the 15 available speaking only to Mario.

“I said to him: ‘Mario, I cannot change you, I have no strikers on the bench, so don’t touch anybody and play only with the ball. If we lose the ball no reaction. If someone provokes you, no reaction, if the referee makes a mistake, no reaction.'

“The 46th minute – red card!”

———————

And for that reason alone....... I’m in.

That's so good, and Harry Redknapp like, I had to look it up and watch Jose telling this story ('You tube' it) with an 'arry twinkle in the eye....

Turns out records show Mario got sent off in the 60th minute, but still, its the way 'arry/Jose tells 'em!

How have you been a user for 13 years and you don't know posting random tweets in the ITK thread leads to a smacked bottom?
