Jj still positive
He just deleted his tweet tho - someone asked if JJ's bet that we would sign a striker was still available and he said 'Absolutely it is' and seemed very happy, but as I said he deleted, hopefully he's just being cautious.

Important to clarify jj is positive we’ll get a striker, doesn’t mean that the striker in question won’t be shit. Yes I’m looking at you Christian.

If Jose Mourinho could now manage Balotelli, particulary for the next couple of months
IMHO he could be the best player we were linked with for a loan deal
Yes the guy is nuttier than a fruitcake, But he is nearly 30 now,
but actually he has the potential to be an amazing world class footballer if he can get the discipline right... and Jose has managed him before so if he came ....Huge pace,Two footed, great in the air one of the best set piece and penalty takers in world football.
Has Drogba type physique....

And then I woke up....having said that his goal scoring stats are still pretty good and he can hold the ball up...

If jose would take him, (who once said he is unmanageable) then he knows he what hes getting into
Funnily enough high risk yes, but actually could really tie it all together for us

Would rather put Kevin the 230 pound security guard up top than Benteke, least he will have some movement in the box.

I’m forever an optimist, but as I said earlier in the thread I won’t be too disappointed if we don’t sign a striker. It’s pretty much OG, or our other mystery target or no one at this point. Wouldn’t rule out OG just yet.

And to those of you who don’t want us to sign OG, get a hold of yourselves, he’d be more than decent backup for the rest of the season.

I scrolled and couldn't find that Herc ITK? But think of the Levytastic dollars from the Amazon ratings if he did join us.

Either that or knew his wallet was about to suffer.

JJ's continued optimism makes me think we've got a back-up option to pull the trigger on at any time if needed, someone who we know is available and will come at the drop of a hat. The only one who fits that bill for me is Fernando Llorente, who we were linked with re-signing at the start of the window.

That's the only basis I can see for remaining so optimistic at this point.

He hasn’t been up to the pace of the premiership for about 3 years.
I think he's still capable of scoring with type of flicked goals that he used to score for the trash. Remember the overhead heel kick that he scored?

Imagine him doing that for us.

Not a person in here can deny that they'd go batshit crazy.

I know Benteke is not great but ‘pulling the trigger’ on him seems harsh.

"Saved" from the horrors and perils of having a match-fit, vaguely-competent striker in the squad.

Yeah I'd rather we have no one too, because the perceived purity of our players' former employers is more important to me than the immediate success of this club. Said no one with their priorities in order.

OK. you won me over with this. I've got a ticket on the OG train if it ends up stopping in this station.

I see no striker coming. I reckon the Polish fella was due but things changed; JJ was confident, as was Trix. But things change. Hercs intimating in OG thread that not dead in the water. I don’t want to speak in cliches but the hand of history is on our shoulders
