Thanks @Trix for the info.

Typical Levy on Bale. These are the types of transfers that you don't go into, thinking there might be a 'deal' to be had. They're the transfers where you go hard or go home. Otherwise you're wasting your time.

We've enquired, asked what it would take. What's wrong with that? You need to understand transfers are extremely complex and usually very drawn out. You lot usually get to hear things at the very early stages. You have to understand this is the way it is at most clubs involving most transfers. I know some of you are just looking for any old stick to beat Levy with, but I can assure you this isn't one of them, regardless of how badly you just want to blame him for the entirety of life's problems.

Sounds like he'd feel right at home given our current state...

Maybe we should take this to the Piantek thread instead? But he is actually quite good at finding space between defenders. With someone like Lo Celso to pick him out I think he could be really good. But with that said I also thought Soldado was gonna score many, many goals for us.

Fair enough. I thought the deal was at a more advanced stage

It's damned if you do, damned if you dont - if reports of "inquiries" get out then we all get our hopes up even though inquiries are very far off from even negotiating for a player. If there are never any rumors then we all think the club has no ambition because we aren't pursuing players.

When did we ask yesterday? Another smokescreen from levy.

Sorry mate, but no matter what you say the full blame will always be on Jenas!

Are you messing around? Or are you genuinely serious?
That was not a question to trix if that’s how it looked, just meant we have had months to possibly sort a deal out for bale so no reason for it to go on until the last week of the window. Just seems like another player we really tried for but just run out of time

This. I'd assume at this point of the window we'd already be in somewhat advanced talks with a player if we're actually trying to sign him. Either they're trying to appease fans by showing intent or Levy is actually an idiot. We know he's not going to pay ridiculous fees so why even bother?

Not shitting on the ITK as I know information is shared in good faith but sharing 'inquiries' for players only seems to set up false hope more often than most.

I don’t understand why people don’t think things can change at any given time. Especially when the asset has the power to change its mind. Why does something have to have been planned since October?

That’s so relevant to this thread. Deals that were dead in the morning can be alive in the afternoon and dead again the evening. They can then be resurrected the following week.

The information has a time stamp and is really only as accurate as that. (And that’s not necessarily when it was posted here, if someone is going off a conversation had a few days ago etc.)

Bringing in just one striker in this window as itk says is not good enough.
Gedson says "Hi".

Seriously though, if there isn't a decent DM available (if Jose even wants one), then I'd rather wait til summer than buy in any old shite.
Aurier is playing well, so that lessens the need at RB.
ITK has also said that if players leave, there may well be other signings.

A striker is an absolute must.

This. Just look to Liverpool; they waited for van Dijk to be available, and I don't think they regret it.
Better to wait until summer, if the players we want isn't available now.

I think Spurs fans understand this the most, or at least those that frequent SC. How many times a window do transfers change quickly? Yesterday we were signing Bale, today we're not. Last window was Dybala. Tomorrow it'll be someone else.

What I think people find frustrating is that our transfer policy/structure is all over the place. None of what we do makes sense most of the time. Of course there's always stuff going on in the background, but whats happening doesnt really seem to ever from to fruition.

(edit as I hit enter too quickly)
