Bale is rediculously complicated. Financials are crazy and all three parties want a completely different deal. He is open to leaving but this isn't going to get past the enquirey stage unless things change dramatically on at least 2 sides.

At least there has been communication this time.

Piatek is the primary push as things stand. Won't be anything else then unless someone leaves.

Inter looking at alternatives to Eriksen, although they are making sure we are aware of that.

Thanks for sharing,

Hardly inspiring stuff though;

Eriksen playing like he doesn't care.

Piatek would have been no ones first choice.

No strengthening at full back or DM.

Bale unlikely.

I guess given we don't currently have a striker that Piatek will improve the squad.

Good. Our money is better spent elsewhere.

Trix - thanks for your super clear update on our major deals, top work!

Thanks for the update. As expected really and it would be a positive to gain a young and fairly useful striker.

As for Eriksen, it sounds like Levy is holding firm on the price we want and Inter are looking elsewhere with our full knowledge - game of poker and down to the wire as usual on this one it seems.

If we end this window with Piatek and Fernandes that would be a very successful January window - it will become really fantastic if we also manage to shift Eriksen.

Thanks for a detailed update Trix. Hopefully the Eriksen deal is in the endgame, were both parties are trying to squeeze that last £1m or so in their favour to feel better about the deal. Just praying it doesn't fall through. All parties need a fresh start.

Hopefully Piatek is close, could do with him having some training sessions pre-City.

As for Bale, sounds like if anything would happen it'll be very late on, as time pressure will probably be the only thing that brings movement from all sides. Does sound like the financials are too much for any club though, let alone us.

Cheers Trix, if we get Gedson and Piatek whilst getting a bit of cash for Eriksen I think that would be a good window. January is difficult to both shift and buy players and we'd have improved two problem areas with players who can hopefully use this season to settle and be ready to kick on fully next.

Piatek has struggled massively after his move to AC Milan and has 4 in 18 this season. He presses aggressively off the ball but offers very little else when he's not scoring.

I'd be very surprised if he suddenly turns into a different player with us.

I have seen a fair amount of AC Milan games this season. Let's just say our midfield is galacticos compared to theres. Piantek is working hard, a real good presser but he do not get any good balls to work with from his team mates.

Levy just needs to get rid now. No point in playing brinkmanship in the hope of getting a few mill more when you will lose him for free in 6 months, and that's not taking into account his lack of desire to be here, or inability to put a shift in. Also, if it is one in and one out, then get shot and try and find a solution for our other glaring holes e.g. def mid, left back, wide forward etc.

Thanks Trix for the info.

Whilst I agree with you- a new ready to go RB would make it so much better

Agree, if we had money to burn and the deal was a little more straightforward to bring him back, then yes - it would make a lot of fans very happy.

But the money/effort likely to be involved in making this deal work doesn't sit right with me when we have some glaring issues in our squad which need to be addressed.

The longer Piatek has rumbled on the keener I am. I can't think of a potential better back up for Kane that would want to come and know he has to work his ass off to get chances, he's expressed his admiration for Harry and would be keen to learn from him no doubt and he seems super motivated and professional. It's a yes from me... Clive

The only concern is that sounds exactly like Jansen. However, goals in Serie A are much harder to come by than the Dutch league so I remain hopeful.

Probably the best of the ones we’ve been realistically looking at.

A goalscorer has to score to count as one, no? He's scored 7 in his last 29 league games for them.
I'm usually not a stats person but it's worrying to say the least.

Well, why not be optimistic. Soldado and Janssen were banging them in relentlessly until they came to us...
Hopefully it can work the other way ?

He wants to really work their balls, or merely play with them? Are his own balls useless? Is he a striker, stroker or a polish-er...?

:facepalm::facepalm: Sorry - I couldn’t stop myself.

Sounds like it’s one out one in again.
Need some movement on the likes of Walker-Peters, Foyth, Wanyama in order to bring a DM in maybe.
