Piatek is a fox in the box kinda striker. We need someone who will just put the ball in the net when they're expected to do so. Kane is usually that man and whilst he offers a lot more than just goals, I'm sure we can find a way to play to Piatek's strengths.
It's also good that he differs from Kane because it allows for the option to play them together in future.
Willian Jose wouldn't be a bad option either but I wouldn't expect him to be as prolific as Piatek should be.
One of the ITK's said we were focussing on Piatek with an offer out on another as back up. I'm guessing it's Piatek and then Jose as a back up.not sure if this was posted
dragon1: there is truth in the sociedad striker but we arent the only ones in for him
Piatek has struggled massively after his move to AC Milan and has 4 in 18 this season. He presses aggressively off the ball but offers very little else when he's not scoring.
I'd be very surprised if he suddenly turns into a different player with us.
That's not true.
After his initial move in January last year he was absolutely on fire. Twitter blew up after he scored a brace on his first start, I think it was, and he went on to score plenty more rest of season.
He's struggling this season because Milan are struggling and they're not playing to his strengths.
A goalscorer who presses aggressively off the ball sounds fantastic to me.Piatek has struggled massively after his move to AC Milan and has 4 in 18 this season. He presses aggressively off the ball but offers very little else when he's not scoring.

He was scoring for fun prior to AC Milan and had a good run at the start, yes but the goals quickly dried up.
He now has a total of 13 goals in 36 league games with 6 coming in his first 7 starts for them. Since then he's scored 7 in 29 and I'd frankly expect a lot better from a player who barely provides anything outside of scoring.
He's a Roberto Soldado, Inzaghi or Huntelaar with a way worse scoring record.
He's young and can definitely improve but in what way would our way of playing suit him better and where does the confidence that he'll flourish with us come from?
Raul Jimenez scored 18 goals in 80 appearances for Benfica. Vardy spent his whole career in the conference before joining Leicester. Firminio scorer 38 in 140 for Hoffenheim.
We and other clubs have signed prolific strikers (Jannsen, Soldado, Rebrov, Shevchenko, amongst others) who failed to do it in the premier league.
Players adapt to different leagues differently. Its difficult to judge how a player will do. He may be a success or he may not. He may not score much but he could bring other players Son and Alli into the game who will.
The only question worth asking is whether Jose wants him and if he does, the rest is history really
