Regarding Moutinho. Since AVB hasn't done an official press conference yet (I'm not saying he will either) but it would make sense to introduce them together. We know AVB likes him and vice versa. So called sightings of him too. This one makes sense.

Naughton was star on championship at age of Smith. There is 3 years in-between and Kyle is two times championship xi player and proven pl full back whereas Smith is still to impress on higher than League One. Naughton is much, much more likely to have career on top flight than Smith.

I think both will go on to have top flight careers, but for me Smith just appears to have better technique, crossing, and passing ability than Naughton, though I do remember Naughton scoring quite a few at Leicester. Smith offers something different to Walker, whereas Naughton seems quite similar. Maybe i'm wrong and I just like Smith because we've brought him through and not bought him.

Naughton came on massively at Norwich, and letting him go will be a mistake IMO.

Meanwhile, I've worked out why we're not being linked with more Strikers. The answer is under our noses...

England U19s are in the semi-finals of the European Championship after beating France 2-1 in Tallinn on Monday with first-half goals by Everton midfielder John Lundstram and Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Why Archie can't just say 'Naughton' I don't know. It doesn't seem a bad deal, and we make a modest profit, but I'd rather we had better cover for Benny than Rose.

While I haven't seen him play, and am unsure if he's even signed, isn't there some suggestions that the United kid Fryers might be that backup? He could be way off from being 1st team material, but it could be there thinking, seeing as LB's are about the hardest position to fill.

I don't want to see Naughton sold. Championship team of the year, backed up with a solid season at Norwich. Has all the attributes to provide a great rotation policy with Walker, without losing anything. Whereas when we had to bring Corluka in for Walker, we lost pace.

If anything, Naughton's crossing ability is better than Walkers, if his allround game isn't quite as good.

But how many could afford his wages? He will have taken a substantial cut from the crazy whack he was earning at City, but I'm pretty sure he'll still be on around £100k a week, certainly with add-ons and bonuses. Very, very few clubs can stretch to that sort of money, and how many of those that could need him?

at a cost of 5mil several clubs could...in fact any club who are able to pay around 18mill for a player and 80k a week...5 mil to city, 12 mil to Abe signing on fee and 80k a week for 3 years. IMO any player would take a smaller total lump payment up front, than weekly spread over 3 year, for example, which would u take? a 10mil sighing on fee up front and 60k a week or zero signing on fee and 160k a week? (both 3 years)

Did you know that he donates a large % of his wages to his charity? they recently opened a hospital and a school. Previously he built a big home and turned it into an orphanage.

Drogba will be doing similar with his huge Chinese pay cheque. 50% i think goes to charity.

agreed with Kendall

i remember watching him in his first season, he played well even as RB, but his chances would be limited since we've Kyle walker, i think it would be decent option to keep as RB/RM backup for Walker & Lennon, or send him out on loan with recall back option.
