Thanx JJ.... One thing this window has shown is who are the wums of ITK and who's not. JJ said from the start we will be quite and don't have the £ to spend, whereas others were coming out with extravagant stuff which common sense told you was BS. Hopefully the mods can weed out these wums so far next time any ITK we get is clear and concise like JJ's.

Abso-fucking-lutely.

Next window lets just have a complete ban on anything twitter. Anything. Ever. Ever.

It feels like we've been chasing Leandro since his mother was in the first trimester and now it's time to get over it once and for all. This might sound quite silly but I feel I'll be more pissed off if we signed him this summer than I am that we didn't last night

Strange one, I know.......

Another January passes, another opportunity missed. But hardly surprising, we didn't exactly spend big when we had champs league money, even less likely when we didn't.

The only comfort I can take is that none of our rivals have really strenghened either. We are still 4th despite drawing the last 3 and IMHO those around us are no more consistent.

The key will be how quickly holtby can make an impact, I personally think the shots/chances we have been creating are misleading and actually most of the time we are taking shots from outside the area because no one can spot the killer pass. If holtby can do that Defoe and Ade will get enough goals to get 4th (well they did last year).

I also like to try and get some perspective. Of the 25 years as a spurs fan I can honestly say this is the best management structure, training facility, youth set up etc we have had and I still remember us having to beat Oldham away on a cold Wednesday night just to stave off relegation, so we are not in that bad a shape.

Finally all this rubbish about bale going because we haven't spent 20 mill on a striker etc is nonsense. Whether we get 4th or not, Bale will go if the price is right, just like every player in the world.

Agree with the twitter ban for next window. It can be useful for certain things but is certainly not useful in the quest of ITK.

Disappointed but not suprised. I even went to bed before the deadline! We certainly are looking a bit thin in some postions now, good job we never get any injuries.......oh.

More concerned we are selling our best player each summer- bale to Madrid this summer is done. The following summer- who? The summer after that I imagine Holtby out for big money if he progresses as expected...

It's ok if we spend the £40m say from bale, on Willian and an up n comer... But we prov just gonna go for an up n comer

I'm not one of those constantly on Levy's back to spend money we can't afford.

What's seriously fucking me off though is that we constantly seemed to be linked and trying for players that are out of our league. If Leandro wasn't going to happen it should have been put to bed early and back up targets aquired. Levy's success with VdV seems to be clouding his judgement

Whatever happened to Saha? He's a free agent now isn't he?

I know he's getting on now but surely he's better than a crocked Defoe.

And the greatest ITK was AVB closely followed by JJ who said it would be quiet. We got Holtby and Fryers, young with great potential. We can't afford to go out and challenge the Chelskis and Citys for the top players. Get em young, get em cheap and build (not buy) a world class team.
You say this but we have completely changed our transfer policy nowadays. Long have the days gone where we picked Bale up for £8m, Lennon for £1m etc.

We got it back a little this window but why we didn't do it for a striker I don't know

Who are the clowns who said 'Leandro is close' and all of this nonsense. Can't believe I'm so stupid to believe it and get excited!! Next time, these people shouldn't even be allowed to post. They had their chance and they were wrong (not all of them but a majority) so no more 'I'm ITK' for them.

It depends the way you look at the term close, we put in a bid didn't we so in that case they were correct, most of them said this before it went on SKY TV. So thats in is ITK is it not? Unless you know the player personally how closer can you get. Plus you didn't think we were going to sign him did you?? lol:)

EVERY "ITK" gets at least one wrong a window. Their "inside info" always seems to come out around the same time the media print stories of us being linked to players.

Take it all with a pinch of salt. I doubt any of them are genuinely ITK.

It amazes me how many people seemingly believe these attention seekers over our own manager!

It should be looked at as a bit of fun and not taken too seriously. The same will happen next transfer window though on here, you watch!

It's worth noting that the ITK's who apparently got it right this jan ( well apart from the Damiao is close stuff, which ruined everyone's reputation surely! ) simply repeated what our manager said all along...

I said after Holtby that I thought our ins were done. All I did was listen to what AVB said! ITK me up anyone?

..to be honest I gave up on expecting a striker to come in during the summer. The fact that berbatovs replacement could have nearly
ended up being berbatov himself says it all. I know the history levy has with him but what would I'd give to see him leading our line this feb.

I like many others accept we won't spend millions on a striker but surely there must be someone who could do a job upfront for the right price.. what are our scouts doing? . Also What's wrong with instead of loaning him out we gave couliaby a run upfront?.. ok he might not be ready but its insane only having ade and Defoe (with injury) available.

We have seemingly learnt nothing from last season. Holtby looks good and hopefully we've got VDV replacement. Dembele perhaps could grow into the modric role but we are left praying ade comes back more like the striker from last season.

It's a huge gamble on Levy's part and if it doesn't work there will be some big questions to answer this summer.

Isn't all this disappointment just a result of the extremely hyped deadline day? Hadn't it been such a big deal and if it wasn't for all the "Levy Time"-talk I don't think we'd be this down today.

Looking at our rivals for 4th and what they've gotten this January it's not very impressive.

Arsenal bought a cover for an injured left back.
Everton got who?
Liverpool got Sturridge

I consider Chelsea pretty much nailed on for 3rd and they have strengthened with Ba, that's for sure.

We bought a potentially world class creative, flexible and exciting midfielder, German international and U21 Captain. Out of the teams we are competing with - Pool, Everton and Arsenal, we've strengthened the most IMHO.

Have to say I was wrong. I was a big advocate of Twitter in the ITK thread but it wasn't good. Back to the good old days I say.

seriously it could be worse. from a outside perspective you have the best player in the league in my opinion in bale. the best right back in the league in walker. one of the best keepers in the league. you play good football and will finish in the top 5 (personally i believe 4th)
compare that to Villa.

Well done A & C with your daily ITK update which has had me constantly chuckling.
It was a quiet window as expected.
Also glad we didn't waste money on Hooper and the like.
Good to get some players out for valuable playing time on loan.
It goes without saying that we needed more quality in certain places but change that record as this time last year we could have gone on to win the league with 2 or 3 more players. Same could have been said 2 years ago too. We dont and cant do that.
Shame but its just the reality of our financial status.
Not sure what AVB thinks but if i find out i may pass it on.

One question if I may JJ...........yesterday evening you posted that things were beginning to move. Were you referring to LD? If so how much were we willing to spend? You talk about our financial situation but presumably if you were talking about LD we put some kind of offer in? Or did DL always know it was never going to be enough and it was yet another ploy to make us think we were really trying............a lot of it just does not add up to me

A&C, you didn't say this on the 1st January did you?

Woohoo! It's open! The Transfer Window is here! 31 days of waiting for something that isn't going to happen! Fast Forward to the window closing and we'll see thread after thread moaning about another lost opportunity/Levy is a tight ****/Why didn't we sign player X/Y or Z? Deep down you know it.................

You were warned!

SING A SONG OF SIXPENCE

Sing a song of transfers a pocket full of cash,
Four and twenty rumours all of them gash.
When the transfer window opened the ITKs did sing,
Oh we want a striker but we all got nothing

Levy was in his counting house counting out his money,
He liked the clubs bank balance laughing cos its funny

The fans on Spurs Community they began to moan
What did we get eventually, not even a loan

Still, it's been a great laugh and come the summer transfer window we'll all be back here, doing it all again.

Well, most of us, anyway :sneaky:

I'm starting to believe you A&C is in fact Daniel fuckin Levy!! All talk and all bleeding us poor folk for every penny we've got!

Im starting a protest. I'm not coming back on here for 5 months! ; )

it is what it is but to say we're out of Champions League as a result of this is asinine. Chelsea improved but they still have a bunch of problems. Arsenal brought in a LB. Did Everton even do anything? Yeah I'd be lying to you if I didn't want that extra push but I really think Holtby will come good and change the dynamics enough.

Damiao I could care less about. Anybody oozing over his highlight videos is silly. Look at Adebayor's highlights from last year. They're great and it's in our own shirt. If he finds form he'll be devastating. I think it's a vouch of confidence for our strikers that we didn't get a veteran in here on the cheap.

Dissapointed about not getting Wing Cover it really hurt us last year sticking Modric or Krancjar on the right. But when you see the price of Willian I can't be too mad. A little bummed about not getting Diame as Parker goes down the ship will start to sink. You can "somewhat" plug holes with Siggy and Dempsey but Huddlestone.. I don't know think so.

Hopefully we stick to 3rd-4th get our spot and give AVB a proper summer to attract players. There's really nowhere he can go that much better than us barring any Sheikh takeovers. Maybe start identifying players you can afford to get a decent plan B.
