Burn bum time was Giroud in main. Due to it being chavs ?
It is peak Spurs to think we could get a striker from not only a club competing with us for fourth, but also literally the club least likely in the world to do business with us.

Jose Mourinho (JM) wants the 18 year olds upwards going out on loan everywhere, to get experience. He believes they and we have suffered, as they were stifled not going out on loan.

Good to hear Herc, we’ve all been saying it for years.

The issue is Chelsea already have three strikers in TA, MB and OG.

United have Greenwood and Martial and actively seeking a striker in the last few hours.

We’re plugging a major hole that our best player occupied with wide forwards who are unable to play in a Jose team long term. It’s hard not to be pessimistic when we haven’t exactly scored a load of goals since Kane’s injury.

Of course it’s not the be all and end all but an out and out striker to replace Kane has been needed for quite some time. The club are solely to blame for not bringing in anyone and not only in this window.
This has been mentioned before but if you classify Martial as a striker than Moira and Son are too. The reality is Son is a great striker and has been mightily effective for us in that position. We do have strikers we just don't have strikers that Jose wants. Very few actively complained about not getting a striker last window because we know Son can be effective there, and Poch trusts him there. But Jose doesn't. But it's completely disingenuous to suggest we only have one striker. Its simply not true.

I have no argument here,. What I was on about was the diatribe that the original poster was spouting about our demise in not getting a striker. We didnt so lets move on in other words

Glad to hear Tanganga agreed a contract. Jose alluded a few weeks back that it’s already been done or an extension option had been activated. Almost certain it was after the Liverpool game.
Didn’t see/hear that. But not option, more than that.

Could never understand Chelsea contemplating selling OG to us. They have a transfer embargo, and they are competing with us for 4th. Why would they strengthen us?

They were never selling to us imo was just a ploy to waste our time and hinder us getting a striker

Tanganga signed/agreed 5 year contract. Eventually will be announced. Troy Parrot also agreed similar I believe, on his 18th Birthday in few days. Hugo agreed extension.

Edited: This is what I have heard
Would be surprised on 5 years, 3 with a trigger clause is the norm

I agree with him there. Think this hindered KWP progress

And yet we were constantly being fed the line that "the stadium would not affect transfers."
So Herc’s ITK is on the money. We never invested much in the squad before the stadium build. And that policy will continue until they build the next stadium. ?

Hallelujah!!! One of my biggest gripes of the pochettino regime! People say KWP was far from good enough for us. That's what happens when you go 3 years without a game...

Trouble is, the same is happening now with Skipp. He’s not getting games and not going out on loan this window.

Ok, we're clearly not going to score many goals for the rest of the season but at least we have a water tight defence. Oh, hang on....

The whole keeping young players around the squad can work if you do intend to play them when they are 18/19. But if they aren't quite up to the level of your particular standards at that time and you keep them around a few years until you decided to throw them in, out of necessity most likely, then it's no surprise when they have regressed and struggle to fit in. As a result, we won't play them more but keep them hanging around for a little longer, then finally flog 'em when they're 23. We get nothing out of it besides a relatively small fee and they are half the player they were at 18 and left having to rejuvenate a stagnating career. Think it might have worked for Poch early on 'cause it wasn't as hard for an 18 year old to meet the standards at his former clubs and with us in his first season. After we assembled the peek Poch team, however, unless you were an outstanding prodigy, you were left to stagnate. So I am pleased this is now changing, as expected.
