Winter 2020: "summer different matter ?"

Summer 2020: "winter different matter ?"

Winter 2021: "summer different matter ?"

Summer 2021: "winter different matter ?"

Winter 2022: "summer different matter ?"

etc

We will always fall “just short” because of this, always the nearly men :(

A striker this window could have been the difference between 4th or a trophy, & now we’re one injury away in attack from an even bigger crisis

Who other than Levy has placed us so in hock to the banks?

Hercules' post seems to put paid to the idea that the stadium will suddenly turn us into serious competitors.

I'd imagine that the positive financial reporting may result in another bumper pay package for you know who, however.

We can only do options due to financial balancing. Option has to be in our favour.
We won’t entertain obligation as effects our balance sheet. As Bank commitment would be needed.

summer different matter ?
Thanks @Hercules, interesting info on the finances.

I'm really confused why we have so little money to spend, given that we're the eighth richest club in the world by revenue, and just recorded the highest profits ever in world club football.

Edit: seen your second post on this. Thanks for the further info.

LISTEN OUT PLEASE!

we are heavily governed by our banks, and the credit we already drawn down, and have with them. Reality is; we will spend sensibly. We have auditors etc, under agreement watching how we spend every penny. The bank want to protect their asset, which is the stadium. Unless we have an investor to come in, pay off everything, we have to be creative and frugal. I rather that than false hopes. So don’t expect summer to see us rack up 150m in purchases Net spend. We thought we would of had more sponsors:naming rights etc.

I don’t like it, but that is how it is.

Did we not go to the bond markets and refinance it all already. The repayments are only ~50m per year.

And the truth shall set you free... I now have expectations that are frequently met during windows. This helps me have peace of mind.

Thanks @Hercules. Atleast we know what is realistically attainable with this team and in the near term.

CE’s money allowed us to cover Bergwijn deal with structured payments. Extremely little paid upfront
Seems like the structure and covenants in the stadium financing have hamstrung the club in the short term. Hopefully not havng the ability to strengthen won't impact our future onfield success.

Why though when our borrowing is against an asset that's bringing in millions more than the interest payments and we made 150 million last year and this year will be the same
Get naming rights then and stop asking so much

City have Jesus on the bench.
Chelsea have Giroud and Batshuiyi on the bench.
Arsenal have Lacazette on the bench.
Leicester have Iheanacho on the bench.
Even Wolves have Cutrone on the bench.
We have Troy Parrott (if he makes the bench, which he's apparently not ready to).

The idea that you can't have a decent back-up striker is honestly astonishing.

Moura is Kane's backup (in combo with Son) and has over 20 goals this and last season. How many of those above have scored more?

EDIT - to stay on topic, appreciate the insight and info as always Herc. Really hopeful on Eze - he looks a bit special.

Can we start life-banning people who can't be arsed typing a players name and we end up with posts that read like

"DL wanted FD but JM said he wanted GvD. RL being lined up for summer if CD can't be got".

If we're so broke why on earth are we even entertaining the possibility of Bale or Dybala? Makes no sense.

It's gone 4 o'clock and there's only 30 pages in this thread. I've done enough deadline days on here to know that I don't need to read it. No signings, nobody expected to sign, and not even a cryptic to entertain the rabid masses. Tell me I'm wrong :(.

Half of those are not decent.

Seeing that Frank has gone public that he is staying. We were very confident we could conclude a deal for Giroud, up until last night. We spent 3 days talking and agreed all. This morning Frank himself decided he wanted him to stay, due to their failure to bring in another striker. That was not the understanding we had. Chavs were willing. Frank this morning vetoed that happening.

club would of backed JM with obligation on Willian Josè, but he was not confident to do so. Would of stretched us (obligation) but DL would of done it. So with all this in mind, I call it the way I see it. I was pissed off like any supporter would be with out failure striker front. But after getting clear understanding, from my disclosure in past hour, how could I honestly start bashing our club on this? When the club/DL is at fault, I will call it. If I do, BsodL don’t get on my case that I have an agenda.Eze, verbally agreed for summer. We have first option!
Even Stevie wonder could’ve seen that Chelsea would’ve only sold if they got a striker in, i hope we weren’t that stupid

This sounds bad. I can only dream of a time when we can post world record profits.

Oh wait
