I’m still full of hope - Danny decided not to distract himself with organising a loan for Troy. He will now focus on a new player who Herc will reveal after the deadline, shortly before the club announce him.

Otherwise Tanganga will be given the chance to prove that he can play as a striker too

Told even we signed a striker JM not keen on loaning TP out. Hope now I don’t get that curse from the club ‘We have come to an agreement to loan Troy Parrott to...club,..we wish him all the best’

Can you not change the ‘even’ to a ‘when’ please?

If we’re keeping Parrott and intending on giving him a chance, then I’m fine with us not signing a striker.

However if José sticks to his previous “Troy isn’t ready” and not even putting him on the bench, then I’m a bit dumbstruck on how we can leave ourselves with no one up top for the next 2/3 months.

agreed, and think the masses would accept this.

I can't believe people are saying it's been a great window and that signing a striker would have been a bonus. We have no fit first team striker for the rest of the season and have averaged less than a goal a game since Kane got injured. By not signing a striker we have all but accepted that this season is a write off.
I don't think any are saying its been a great window but it hasn't been a bad one.
Although we appear to have failed on the striker front, which is frustrating, we have done quite a bit of work to the squad, with a couple of decent signings and clearing some of the chaff.
January is a shit time to make decent signings, so we haven't done too badly.

Although it does look as though we've now run out of options for a striker, let's face it, the options that were out there weren't great.

*obviously I'm not including Wout, who would clearly be fantastic!

So even Jose cant get the wee runt to open the purse strings and fill the gaping holes in the squad that a blind man could see. So much for the influence of Mourinho on the little bald runt. Thanks for the info Herc.

Who? The transfer market isn't like a shop where you roll in and buy as you wish. Firstly, you need a player who is available, secondly a player who is finically attainable, thirdly a striker who can come in midseason and start scoring and lastly a player who will after a few months be happy sitting on the bench.

For the umpteenth time it's not just down to this window though is it? We let Llorente go last summer with no replacement. We took a massive gamble, bordering on negligence, that Kane would would stay fit all season despite running him into the ground.

This window is like going out to buy some work boots and a pair of wellies but coming home with some fluffy girls slippers and a pair of flip flops. Then, remembering that your house is surrounded by mud and you have fuck all footwear for Monday morning on the building site.

Gedson and Bergwijn are welcome, unexpected additions which are clearly part of our long term planning.

We have Son, Moura and Dele who can play the central attacking role, and while not ideal, I’d rather them than some new Janssen that will cost close to 30 million and three windows to shift.

Tanguy should hopefully be fully fit as we go into February, GLC is starting to show his quality. Lloris is back, as is Davies. Mourinho is showing faith in Tanganga, who so far is repaying that faith.

We’ve shifted Rose (for now) and Eriksen, while KWP gets a much needed loan.

And we have GLC on a deal until 2025 with change from 43 million.

Overall, not a stunning window but pretty good for January

Well, this isn’t very exciting.

I’ve actually managed to do a shit load of work today - which is very disappointing.

Was hoping we’d sign Bale and I would be able to get fired for dancing round the office with my cock out.

FFS how many more times am I going to see this tonight. They are absolutely not in the same boat with regards to strikers. By Mourinho's own definition we have zero, United have two and Chelsea have three.
Martial ain't no more a striker than son

Nothing available, as far as I know we don't have an infinite money tree to be throwing around £25m on crap players.

Utd have Martial and Greenwood I presume?

Martial is no more a central striker than Son. They are both flexible forwards who can play wide or central.

Son is a foot taller than Martial and Son has actually scored more goals in the PL than Martial has in the same seasons.

Greenwood isn't much different to Parrott, except he has been given a chance. He's only a few months older than Troy.

THIS, people seem to think we are scoring goals for fun, the same problems of failing to score regularly won’t just magically resolve itself in time, which is why José has been so insistent on us needing a Striker
