World record profit and London's richest club. We should really be doing a lot better than the likes of Giroud or Balotelli. Let's hope the bald leader has a trick up his sleeve.

His tweet is basically that you’re all ****s anyway, so why does it even matter?

Which to be fair is what A&C has said for the last 10-15 years.

JJ on twitter......

“People getting all bitter & twisted & the window hasn’t even shut yet. If nothing happens then you can whinge & moan to everyone else on Twitter & say the same old sh*t but it won’t make any difference.Even if we bring someone in people will whinge & mosn that they aren’t quality.”

Still sounds smugly optimistic..... I think?

Morning you wonderful Fannys and Dicks. So it sounds like we’re in a supermarket sweep scenario whereby our glorious recruitment team will tear around the transfer window aisles, looking to swoop up the best deal.

Just hope Daniel remembers to bring his Londis coupons.

Have at it, sirs
Bear or bare; tear or tare. Think I’ve found a weakness. Ah, you saw it too.

I have to say, JJ is absolutely right. Hold off on the moaning till tomorrow, if nothing else happens. Balotelli is a headcase. Giroud I like, but if we only get him if Chelsea sign a better replacement, surely we have an inkling of who that is and we'd be better off by targeting that player? Sadly I actually quite like Benteke, though Hercules says he is not on the list. I am hoping for Jose to sign Jose as I know absolutely nothing about him so he's probably the best option. All the ITK says we are being offered strikers, so if we get one, it must be someone Jose wants. If not, surely we have to trust the judgement of a serial winner in the embryonic months of his tenure.

people seem to forget how hard it is to buy in January, inflated prices for average players. Loan option for 6 months and then we can go after who we really want in the summer. Glad we have picked up a few targets and looking forward to seeing how we do/set up for the rest of the season! Coys (y)

I'm going to assume we are not signing anyone today at least then I won't be disappointed when that's what happens.

Let’s be honest, no club is going to let a quality asset leave in Jan, we are going to have to scrape the barrel so to speak to resolve a short term issue.
We have one of the very best strikers in the world who is injured for a short while, we need cover - difficult to replace and to find someone whose happy being second fiddle.

mid we get anyone, good, if we don’t - oh well let’s crack on.

we’ll be okay either way I reckon

The last point is bang on - I’d rather sign no-one then some of the players we’ve been linked with.

Monthly donation just set up, it really is very quick and easy. If you enjoy this site, please follow the link and donate. Couple of quid on a monthly scheme, you won’t miss it, but it all adds up to help running of the site.

Great work moderators, and ITK’s, and of course Dov for his relentless whoring.

Right, admin out of the way. I reckon JJ seems fairly relaxed about the situation. If it was all over and no more incomings, he’d have no issue being blunt about it. There are players out there surely that would meet our needs, even if only short term until we can put a better long term fix in place. Loan with option does us no harm.

Don’t think Giroud will happen, can’t see Chelsea doing us any favours. Balotelli seems very leftfield, but on sheer ability, he has all the skills we need, albeit he’s puddled. I still think the Jose deal is the one that could happen. That turns a steady window, what with outgoings and players with potential being recruited, to being a quite decent window.

So why let Llorente go in the summer, with no back up? We do it to ourselves.
