Listening to the Krueger interview and he says "we are at a point where we are not selling Jay Rodriguez or Morgan Schneiderlin"

The bolded part along with his other comment about each case being looked at individually suggests to me that a transfer request would make them sell.

He also made another comment about him "wanting players who wanted to play for Southampton in the dressing room" so if Rodriguez and Schneiderlin make it clear that they do not want to stay, they could be allowed to leave.
Listened to that driving earlier... total corporate warble. He left clear 'outs' for himself a couple of times.

Obviously gonna sell.

Yep, totally agree. Those carefully worded snippets are the most revealing. Its all pointing towards a very reluctant sale but they're making sure that the perception is they're doing their best to take a tough stance but what can you do if the players really don't want to be here sort of thing...

Its all coming....when we meet their asking price.

Given we lived through the Carrick, Berbatov, Modric and Bale sagas it's nice to be on the other end of the inevitability.

We can empathise with Southampton as we know the feeling well!

Doesn't mean we're not gonna get all J-Rod and M-Sch up in herrrrrre though.

Quite blatently this.

The whole off season has been a PR disaster for the club and it's about saving face with the media and fans alike that they are still a credible outfit when the reality is very different.

I know we only look at the situation from our angle but Southampton were a prototype club for any team rising through the leagues and to now be lead like they are must be absolutely galling for a Saints fan.

According to last year's figures they were 14th in terms of turnover (and had made a huge leap since June 2012). Pochettino had therefore done a terrific job in getting them finishing ahead of Newcastle and the Spammers (7th and 8th), Villa (10th), Sunderland (11th), Norwich (12th, and relegated), and Fulham (13th, and relegated). However, it's highly unlikely that they would ever have got above 8th; as we've found, breaking through that glass ceiling is very difficult, and we're vastly better funded than Southampton, and far more prestigious.

That said, they could have have been knocking on the door and in the same position that we've been in since 05-06—if a couple of the clubs ahead of us screw up, we're in. It certainly seems that if Conte had stayed, Pochettino and the stars who have gone would still be there, and that Southampton would be finishing ahead of the Barcodes and Spammers and keeping us and Everton honest.

Their agents need to start earning their corn then and get them to play up.

I think those of you who are in the camp that Krueger's statement today is all a big PR sham and that it's absolutely inevitable that at least Schneiderlin and probably Rodriguez will be Spurs players by September are forgetting that we are all Spurs fans, and as such we should be well used to Fate taking a shit on our carefully laid plans.

"Yeah yeah, it's just the Southampton board trying to save face in the media"... when both players are still playing at St Mary's in September don't come crying to those of us who kept in mind that Murphy's Law was written specifically for all things Tottenham.

:D

This krueger/soto situation is not dissimilar to a predicament my missus found herself in on my 45th birthday, in that a tiny bald headed object has caused a lot of discomfort (or a pain in the arse).

To expand on the similie, schneiderlin is my brown wings, the previous sales are my mates brown wings and the other clubs are my mates. It does fall apart as a complete similie in that the other clubs havent told spurs to persuade soton to sell a player to them cos "its fucking ace". Spurs havent bought soton a bottle of bacardi to loosen em up and, so far, soton havent spent 2 hours crying about it and complaining that the kidney punches werent really necessary.

Oh and soton didnt ring spurs up and say "you can have whatever you want"

This is an incredibly convoluted way to boast about having anal sex to a group of strangers.

It's the football food chain. We've had to learn to accept it, as have many clubs in lower leagues. Unless you're at the very top, there will always be shit like this.
