What are your thoughts? I am distracted by Musacchio, Schneiderlin, and Yedlin right now - everything else is off my radar.

I'd love us to sign him, I really think he'll develop into a quality player and already looks a player who can offer a lot. I actually think he'd develop more with better players around him than at OM. That said I'm pretty sure they don't want to sell him and would be looking for a big fee if they did
All that aside the link has hardly raised a ripple, no one commenting one way or the other and I am a bit surprised by that

Hi BM, long time no speak.

Mentioned his name, nobody knew anything, that's why I didn't bother posting. The people I was out with are not really Spurs connected though so they will either have heard something or nothing at all. What I mean by that is they won't have a clue if we have an interest that hasn't been acted on for instance. That said one of them works for the agency that represents arguably our best player, which is where the Nacer and Verts info has come from.

OM has Bielsa now. He will want to stay
I prefer Depay though

After the way he fvcked up Bilbao I would imagine Thauvin may soon change his mind. I understand your point the other day but I just think Thauvin is going to become an exceptional player and imagine he, Eriksen and Lamela could link up and interchange so well.

It's interesting though because I think Depay has a lot of qualities too and will also become a really good player but I think Thauvin has more to offer now and potentially more in the longer run, but I wouldn't be unhappy with either

Hello mate, cheers for that, it's all a bit strange, we were linked in Jan and supposedly tried then, but that was before Poch was even on the horizon. With so many agents spreading rumours and so many journo's making them up it's tough to know if there was any truth to this recent speculation

Cracking info from Trix, enjoyed the level of detail.

Chadli news is interesting, as he could well come into his own in our new system. The rotation of the front 3 would save him from his below average pace (for a winger). He's a strong athletic lad so could really add something whilst pressing high up the pitch (tackling was decent enough when TS played him in CM). Also has a cannon of a shot which was shown in the Newcastle and Benfica games, and seems to have an eye for a pass/cross when on form as well. Adds height from set pieces too.

Doesn't get away from the fact that he was disappointing last season but there is a good player in there IMO. I wouldn't quibble if Poch put him in the starting XI instead on Lennon, Townsend or Holtby...

I think Chadli is great in training.....don't know why but I just don't think he'll be a success for us. Didn't impress last season and was poor for Belgium in Brazil. Seems to be one of those that is sublime in training but nowhere near during matches.

Not necessarily itk, but it's interesting none the less and might get a bit of discussion going .... Ari Gold on SO:

Levy is in Florida holed up in an office trying to do deals in and out.

Those most active are already being talked about and in terms of targets, we literally work through a list.

Trying to get players out and it's proving hard.

So basically, with that being the case, I don't buy the ITK whatsoever. Only Levy, Baldini and Pochettino will have a full picture. Even agents would only know about player X, and we might just be using player X to get to player Y.

I would predict (confidently) we will be this season's Everton, (or previous seasons' Tottenham) in being by far the most active team in the last 48 hours of the window.

Watched over some vids of Chadli from last season and there is obvious and exceptional talent in there somewhere, just needs to be unlocked and I'm certain Poch is the man for the job.

Do you watch us train a lot?

The struggling to get rid of players element is worrying. I imagine there are some on high wages who aren't willing to give that up easily.

Very few impressed last season. And Belgium disappointed generally. Verts was good though even though he played in his hated LB position. I'm not going to write of Chadli after his first season that was so badly disrupted by the manager upheavals.

But a lot of them are going to have a lot to prove this season. I'm willing to let all have a go with Poch and we'll take it from there.

I agree, it is strange people just seemed to leave this link alone. I suppose maybe it's because the ITKers didn't mention him, but no one seemed to really take notice. Aside from Sherwood's words on Kono a couple times, there seemed to be suggesting we actually pursued Thauvin more than Kono at the time.

I think it may be awhile before he leaves Marseille though. Honestly don't blame him at all if he would prefer to stay there and develop in a strong enough environ itself instead of coming to Spurs and subjecting himself to our potential for turmoil/turnover. Of course, we'll see what happens with Bielsa. Just as much chance that'll work wondrously as much as it failing IMO.

I think he was used poorly last season, and certainly not consistently enough to make any definitive statements on his future.

I think all the ITK around Rodriguez does put question marks over Chadli, but I think he could do that role for us if given a chance.
