 is lookslikemodric consider an itk? He mention Higuain.....

We're just having a bit of trouble trying to confirm some thing he's told us. He's being very helpful but there's obviously some stuff he can't divulge even to use privately and that's just making it a bit difficult to verify him. We're all talking trying to come up with a compromise which would let us put his stuff in the RO without risking things for him.

For now his stuff doesn't go in the RO but please show him the same respect you show the other people passing on information.

That £28mil tag was probaly prior to his transfer request. In any rate, there will be add ins that will bump it nearer that price.

IMO Villa would accept £15/18mil tops

I assume Benteke doing the right thing by handing in the transfer request loses him some money in loyalty bonus so any fee Villa get is net with no outgoings to lose, that should have a bearing on the final price.
Bottom line though is now he has handed in the request any number of vultures will be circling so us getting him is a long way off and we'll have a lot of pain and torture before we do it if we even do.

Pretty sure Villa payed £12m for Benteke. I doubt they will sell for £15m. They want £28m and we've probably started bids at £18m.

Wiki says 7m. I don't know though.
Not really talking about cost, more his value. He shouldn't be a 28m player.

So by the sounds of it, Villa was never going to be a goer due to lack of CL and his desire to stay in the picture for the WC.

Cheap(ish) options seem to be getting snapped up (Bony, Gomez) and we are allegedly looking at fairly top end strikers, price wise.

I can live with that, provided Dan can structure a deal to everyone's liking.

are we completely sold on LLM's info in general? Isn't it all a bit convenient?

smacks a bit of an approaching "Ha I got you all, for my social studies summer project!" at the end of the window to me...

happy to be wrong tho, of course.

Hi all, long time lurker first time..ish poster. I also use ja606 and have been following looklikemodric for a while, whilst I don't want to say he's the best itk ever and possibly break any rules here, I would say he's been pretty spot on with most of his transfer knowledge, during the end of the season he also started posting our matchday sqauds, he was also one of the only people and news outlet that picked up on Lloris being injured for the Swansea game and having a youth goalkeeper (miles perhaps?!) On the bench. Once again, I don't want to step on anybody's toes, but just giving my opinion :)

We have enquired about benteke. We were quoted 28 mill!

Now if we can negotiate it down then the deal is a gooer.

as I said previously spurs were well aware villa was joining athletico so there are other irons in the fire.

what I find amusing is that benteke is not that good. He has potential but there is a lot of imorovement needed.

IMO if we can get Benteke for 22 million or less, we will still make a lot of money on him in the future.

Oh, and does anyone think that the cash Real still owes us for Modric might give us an edge for Higuain (if he'll consider no CL this year).

Hello all,
Long time listener, first time caller here.
So, what's the good word?
Have we signed a striker, yet?
;)

THat means we going for Higuain....woohoo!!

However going for is a long way away from getting, as we have just seen...

Feeling a little empty after the Villa to Atletico news broke :(

We need a deal done quickly up top in my opinion. All other places can be filled nearer deadline day if thats what gives Levy his kicks but we cant be left trying to flog Adebayor to make room for a sale come Sep 2nd

Our last 2 big signings Dembele & Paulinho were kind of surprise signings. We showed the initial interest and we were quiet but in couple of days deals were sorted without haggling. In Paulinho's case, the official signing took time because of confeds but various sources say, agreement of the deal happened rather quickly.

The one that dragged the most , where we haggled the most - Moutinho, LD & Villa are the ones which we are loosing.

If we really have the purse for a big name striker, I expect the deal to happen quickly before anyone competes.

Unless we act in next 2-3 days, I can't see Benteke happeneing.

How were we outbid? Allegedly we offered more the am.

Barca are not going to take a lower few for a player, especially when selling to another Spanish club.

ITK said that villa had agreed personal terms also.
