Eh?

It's got nothing to do with price. I would just rather have a striker coming into his prime that will grow with the team and stay with us long term, over a striker who is leaving his prime and has 2 seasons left at the top level max. This is not to say I don't want Villa but given a choice it would be Higuain every time for the reasons stated.

It has everything to do with price, that is the bottom line and that's why I asked the question. If we were spending £25 million on Higuain we wouldn't have the money to improve our team in other positions where we need quality players. Sure I would probably choose Higuain if money was no issue, in fact I would probably choose Messi if price wasn't an issue. But if you are evaluating transfers without thinking about the financial side of them you are just living in Lala land. The salient question is whether you would choose to get Villa and Paulinho for £25 million, or Higuain for the same price. I would definitely choose the former.

Agree, its always about price when you have limited funds, whether that be a 3m or an 80m Transfer kitty. Its only oil rich/sugar daddy clubs where this doesn't apply.

Well it isn't quite that simple. If the goal was to simply have the best team come September than sure, but you have to look at the long term as well. Higuain has much more value and is priced accordingly. It is probably safe to assume that both are priced relatively close to their market value, so it's just a matter of what makes sense for us at this point in time. I think the answer is villa now because the next couple of seasons will be vital and could be the pathway to increasing revenue much more which will more than offset the lack of sellon value for guys like villa if we are successful.

It's a real shame that for the first time in however many windows I have no enjoyment in this thread anymore. A few laughs ok but I find myself scrolling quickly through more and more shite each day. Why do people think they have to be the funniest **** on the Internet?

Sorry guys but this is the worst this thread has been and that includes the days when it was run like the Nazi party.

Bye then.

Yours sincerely,

Funniest **** on the Internet.

I was having a hard time following this thing coming in so late. So I had to start using the "unignore" function. Hate that

Suddenly it became much more disturbing and cohesive

Here's the funny thing, other than King of Otters, I ignore almost everybody that rated Bromavici's initial spam post......especially those that gave him an agree. And I most certainly have the legend of hate that is Bromavindictive on ignore....for longer than anyone. He hasn't added anything but bile to this place since at least 2004. Same group of negative nellies jumped on dagraham. I think people should go back and appreciate his post which took on the site's uber-hater.

Personally if you feel this place is so bad, you should ban yourself, but in case you forget I feel like the mods should help you out. I think 4chan is a bunch of fools.....I left. I didn't sit there bitching to them about their photoshopping and virgin snarkiness. Trolling is nothing if not hateful and persistent.

But there are three kinds that come to this forum. 1) Those who want to hate. 2) Those who enjoy the banter. 3) Those who made a mistake.

Category 1 should find their news elsewhere. Sadly I think they are here to stay because there is an RO and player threads and they won't stop coming here to neg rep and demand police state actions. They are the FOX News of SC. We have to live with that.

Category 2 is here to stay because they make the world a better place and we have to encourage them. But we need to encourage them to find jurisprudence and balance in their need to post silly and need to post intelligently. You want them to have A&C's humor and SS57's intellect (but with Rob's demeanor). If you want to know exactly how to act here to enjoy and contribute, ......follow TSH, Chrissvad, Spurger, Berglad, Misfit, Rawhid and Ripley. They will show you how to be perfect posters with both wit, friendliness and insight. There is a time for a joke. There is a time for commentary. And they do it better than anybody.

Category 3 we hope stay if they are like Category 2 and ask to concentrate on Spurs chat otherwise.

And as for LLM......we don't care if you think he's the ghost of Bill Nick or some gasbag from Cumbria who doesn't know who Ricky Villa is.........at the moment the mods are cool with him, so treat him with some friggin respect. Worst case scenario is that he has done nothing but shift this forum into it's truest intention anytime he posts (which the people having a go seem to value more than gold). So if he's a 12 year old from Lesotho spouting nonsense, he's still more productive than most people here. And since he's not......shut your worthless hole.

For my part LLM, I said that we shouldn't indulge you after a JA606 rant against us. And the mods treated me like they always do...as an idiot. And I am glad they did so and you proved me wrong. You're a great addition to this place and I hope you just learn the "ignore" feature and don't let the worthless rarities of SC drive you away, harming the good members here.

Also A&C......I demand nothing. You and the mods are doing a great job. Haters gonna hate. But mods gotsta moderate. Keep up the great work.

Quality post, as always, Happy. You should perhaps substitute 'voice of reason' for 'resident lunatic'.

I like to think that I'm usually a Category 2, and like you, I wouldn't advocate tighter moderation as I think the mods and admins do a great job. I feel, however, that the trend in this thread during this window has been more towards the irrelevant and unfunny than in previous. Self-moderation is the key to this, and I think it has been lacking recently. That's just my onion, of course, but going by the number of positive 'reps' I've received today merely in support of Bromavinci's initial point leads me to believe that there are quite a few who think similarly.

I've quoted the paragraph about LLM as I didn't see any vitriol towards him; if there was, then I owe him an apology as it was me who first mentioned him - as an example - in a post. If you read this, LLM, you're truly welcome here and we all appreciate your input and friendly (and tolerant) demeanour. It needs a few like you here to counterbalance cranky fuckers like me.

I'm hanging my hat on Magic (new shirt) Monday. I think the kit release will be bigger with household names sporting the new designs. BALE new contract, BRAZIL STAR Paulinho, DAVID VILLA Spain Legend. But others think not.
I'm with you. After all the related iTK it's gotta be Paulinho and Villa at the front with a couple of young 'uns (Croatians) wandering around at the back looking on in complete awe. And maybe there'll be Mr Baldini with his arms around 'em all. Roll on magic Monday!

May I ask who is LLM and what info he posted?

he's kinda like an insider giving us insights on what happened in the clubs and stuff. i suspect he is halilovic himself.
