A few weeks back, someone on twitter was praising Eriksen and JJ replied with "You wait till you see who he will be playing with next season ;0)".

Suggests to me that maybe we have already agreed a deal with someone.

Could we have agreed upon a deal that far back into the season (before the transfer window)??, or you think it was just a deal in principle that we agreed on?

Not Sure. TBH, it could just be that JJ know's the players we are targeting and that they are all realistic and impressive.

If we are building around Eriksen, he will probably in the hole in a 4231. The biggest change we could make to directly assist him would be a proper left-winger or a deep-lying playmaker as one of the two cms. I see a left-winger as more likely though, considering our current depth at cm.
I agree but would add in Striker to those other 2 options as he would be linking up with them often.
Saying that he could have just mean't Lamela finally playing but it didn't sound like it to me. He also said it back in April, so I don't think it had anything to do with knowing the next manager would play Lamela more (although, I think we could have all guest anyone would have).

There is probably equal chance for either, but I'd venture a guess it's a much-needed tricky/creative wide forward or winger for our left flank...Muniain would be a total shocker (in a good way) for me personally. Poch should rate him, no? Since he's been in La Liga for a while.
I wouldn't mind Kono as a quality alternative. Otherwise I'd settle for Bernard.:sneaky: LOL
As far as DLP-type is concerned, perhaps it's Pirlo JJ was alluding to? Hahahaha....I know wishful thinking.

Funny thing is that when I read JJ's quote, I thought it meant "wait till you see what club he will be playing with next season"

We agreed to sign Modric in April IIRC. So, it can and does happen.

Would be a big mistake. Soldado is quality and doesnt fuss. Ade picks and chooses when to play and who to play for and has a terrible attitude.

Agree.

With Poch being a Spanish speaker, its a plus for Soldado
and if reports are correct about Poch's tough training methods, it might
just put off Ade.

So if we do sell one striker, I think that it'll be Ade.

We'll be linked with Argentinians and Southampton players all summer now.

Only Saint I could realistically see us getting is J Rod.

Lallana will go to Liverpool and Shaw will go to utd.

Be interesting to see who he does being in tho.

I'd offload:

Ade - won't work hard enough
Dawson, Rose - not good enough
Sigurdsson - too far down the pecking order to be worth keeping.

Would like to see:

a new striker - has to be good enough to be our main man
Left back - one that can defend first and foremost
A Centre Back - to partner Verts

Yeah I'd agree on that. We need very few changes but they are important ones.

I suspect if we got a good bid for paulinho he would go too. He'll be 1 of the easiest to sell if we need to raise funds as well.

With the amount of improvement players like Rodriguez and Lallana saw under Pochettino, I'd imagine Pochettino would be interested in seeing what he could do with a talent like Townsend. Townsend, despite his obvious (and infuriating) tendencies does have quite a bit of talent that could still be realized into a quality player.

And he himself has previously complained about not being coached recently about his game as much as he was 2 years ago.

We should only buy premiership proven players if we are spending top money, too many expensive foreign players who have just not worked out, and not just at us either even Ozil can be counted as a flop at 41m

Plenty of squad players to sell to raise money without needing to sell first teamers.

So did I, but i don't really wanna contemplate that! Can't imagine many other supporters will want to either.

We'll fucked then imo. Just because Poch speaks Spanish doesn't mean he's going to become any more effective as a lone striker in the PL. If we can make our money back and replace Soldado with a striker more suited to our league we would be absolute fools not to.

If Ade doesn't want to put the work in then he can sod off too but I really don't see why everyone thinks that's going to be the case. The one thing Ade does if put a shift in on the pitch and will actually suit a high press better than Soldado. Ade's problem is he doesn't respond well to competition and is a precious soul.

Poch can get the best out of Soldado, will fill him with confidence like he did Lambert

but this is not the thread for that

IMO the system will help Soldado's game. Sounds to me like Poch is planning to integrate Lamela into the team (if yesterdays guy was to be believed) and I think that him and Eriksen could unlock Soldado
