Weird when we're still interested in Neto??
There are always a handful of deals on the back-burner as back-up options just in case we can't complete deal for our main targets. This isn't just from our side but the player probably has provisional agreements in place with multiple clubs too. It's never a case of putting all our eggs in one basket, you have to have back-up plans.

The ITK even says "unless we get desperate this will stay on the shelf". Hopefully we won't need it as we'll get our main targets but he's a good back-up option in my eyes,

He's a great alternative to Neto but we would need to act quick as I'm sure he will be snapped up soon

Maybe they think its weird that ITK stated injuries have put clubs off him but we are persuing Neto at double the price who also has injury issues.

I would be amazed if the Don wasn't or hasn't been involved with the player and Ange/Levy.

Would be an incredible addition.

Thanks Dov/WLB!

It's weird we're not interested in him due to his injury history but are still interested in Neto despite his injury history
The implication seems to be that he's not our primary target, not that we aren't interested. I don't remember seeing any ITK info that either player's injury record is a concern, that's been restricted to forum discussions and Twitter.

I've read it to death. Both have similar big injuries. Doesn't need to be debated in here. Neither have a clean bill of health.
I agree with sentences one and three. To the Neto thread please. Thank you; big love 👍🏼

Good on him, he has principles, whether we like it or not.
Whilst I hope you’re right, and Richy does seem to be a good guy, players not wishing to move to the Saudi league won’t solely be down to moral decisions.

If he’s refusing to listen to any offers that might be the most moral decision of all - to play for Tottenham Hotspur rather than anyone else 😀

Ange says we have the same targets that we started the window with(backed up by the ITK's) but with this period of inactivity and with only 3 weeks to the start of the season at what point do we make a decision on them and if we need to switch?
I understand the need to shift a few first to cut the wage bill and we have cut it quite a bit already but when Royal goes there's only Lo Celso and Reguilon to shift and clubs will be waiting until the end of the window knowing we need to sell hoping to get a bargain.
Something has got to give if nothing's happening.

I think they know when to make the switch, and that’s when the target is no longer obtainable in the window they need them by. I take these delays as positives. In that the targets are still gettable. What we’ve signed so far is speculative with the exception of Timo.

There are two games in August and one on the 1st September so even if it takes until deadline day to get the players Ange wants for the long term I think we should stick with our prime targets for as long as possible for the sake of three games. Assuming they work out long term, I’m willing to allow them to miss three games if it means we get them for four or five years.

As long as we get them, otherwise it leaves us pissing in the wind
