Exactly my point, the whole "I'll donate 200 quid if we sign Mbappe, or a fiver if we don't".
Either donate or don't.
Or better yet, set up a monthly donation that you end up not even noticing, so the site gets a steady income all year round.

I understand the donation drives every window because it's when the site is busiest and gets most traffic but I'd also say to those who spend a lot of time here then, take a bit of time to explore the rest of the place and get to know the community.
It's well presented, well moderated and made by fans, for fans but also caters for @scat1620 ! 😁

This is a great place to be all year round, no matter which forums you spend most time in. 👍
Jeez its just a bit of fun, I'm sure everyone chucks in what they can regardless

I never understand the pledges to a site that has now power to force through deals. Your pledges IMHO should be because the site is an incredible community, that brings together people from all walks of life, who no doubt would have a huge hole in their lives were the site to shut (Chat, Pictures, Spurs Chat, ITK, Cheltenham Tips etc etc). Why limit what you would give the site based upon what a third party does or doesn't do? Why should Rob et al be hit because a deal couldn't get over the line. I adore this site and I'm here everyday. Just take a look at "I'm not doing that great" / "Unhappy relationships" to see how many people need it.

It’s really not that deep. Pledges have been a thing in transfer windows since I’ve been here. It’s basically tradition to some of us at this point. Just a bit of fun, nothing more nothing less.

£27 donated… £25 for now and £2 I owe after pledging a quid for every PL goal Timo Werner scores!

good job I didn’t say £1 for goals missed!

keep up the good work SC - COYS

It probably does generate extra funds overall, as some people will have looser purse strings during the euphoria of a new signing or will make a large pledge (and keep to it) for a player they don't expect us to sign.

I just send a payment based on what I feel is fair / affordable for my circumstances (sent one a few days ago), rather than making pledges, but the key thing is that we all contribute.

I had a monthly on my SA card, and once I get my card here in Switzerland I’ll do the same, this is on top of the window pledges which is just a bit of fun. We all know A&C needs new beads every 6 months, he goes through those quicker than I go through toilet paper.

Weird when we're still interested in Neto??
Think that’s the point, all things point to him not being pursued based on our current plans. If we miss out on Neto, for instance, maybe we revisit it.

I think this is great news because this backs up with what Ange has said, we have a plan and we’re sticking to it. Tottenham of a few years ago would have went with the cheaper, opportune signing.
